A rap video featuring Stafford County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Thomas Taylor racked up over 1,600 YouTube views within its first 30 minutes.

The music video is a riff on Eminem’s 2002 “Lose Yourself,” in which Taylor is rapping about canceling schools and urging children to enjoy their day off because snow days only happen “once in a while.”


Prince William County Public Schools: “PWCS will be closed Code Red on January 16, 2024, due to forecast hazardous winter weather conditions. All schools closed for students and employees. (Exception: Inclement Weather Employees)”

Stafford County Public Schools: “Stafford Schools Closed Tuesday, Jan 16. School Board meeting postponed to Jan 18.”

The 25 students in grades six through eight came to Open Space Arts at Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center on Wednesday, January 10. According to a press release from the art house, the students came to Woodbridge as part of their curriculum of growth, development, and a flourishing of their innate artistic talents in the New Year.”

“…Open Space Arts seeks to provide an inclusive environment for students to participate in enriching art events, fostering a widespread appreciation and engagement in the arts among our local youth,” states the release.


We’re already hearing from public school divisions in our region about operations for tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024.

Stafford County Public Schools: “Due to extensive flooding in the county and significant power outages, Stafford Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay on Wednesday, January 10. We will reassess conditions by 6:30 a.m.”
