Prince William Police Department: Suspicious Incident – On December 18 at 12:34 p.m., the School Resource Officer (SRO) assigned to Colgan High School located at 13833 Dumfries Road in Manassas was notified of inappropriate drawings and writings found in a bathroom. The investigation revealed earlier that morning, school security personnel entered a male bathroom where they encountered students who found multiple pieces of toilet paper with derogatory/offensive language and inappropriate images written on them. The SRO and school personnel determined none of the observed writings appeared to contain any threats of harm towards students, staff, or other school personnel. A search was conducted, and no additional writings were located.”


Manassas Park Police: [On December 15, 2023] a Manassas Park Police School Resource Officer was notified of an altercation that occurred between two students at the High School. The Officer investigated the incident and charged one student with malicious wounding. The other student is being treated at a local hospital for serious injuries. The altercation was an isolated incident and due to both students being juveniles no additional information will be released.”


Prince William County Public Schools: “Students in C. D. Hylton High School’s Center for International Studies & Languages (CISL) program hosted a meal-packing event with Rise Against Hunger in which Hylton High students, parents, and community member volunteers packed more than 10,000 meals for people in need. Hylton High will send the meals to families and children in need across the world in schools and hospitals.”

“Rise Against Hunger is an international hunger relief non-profit organization that coordinates the packaging and distribution of food to people and families who need them the most across the globe. The organization’s mission is to create a world in which hunger doesn’t exist and Hylton students took the step to help make that mission possible. More than 100 students, parents, and volunteers came out to support the cause.


As we told you over the weekend, the new Prince William County School Board is sworn in and ready to work. Its term begins Jan. 1, 2024, with the board’s first meeting shortly after that.
