Connolly to tour Woodbridge wastewater treatment plant

Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va., Fairfax, Prince William) today will make a stop in Woodbridge during his Infrastructure Week, a series of events demonstrating the investments the bipartisan infrastructure law will support in Northern Virginia.

Connolly will host an energy and environment tour of the Prince William County Service Authority’s H. L. Mooney Advanced Water Reclamation Facility, at 1861 Rippon Boulevard in Woodbridge. During this tour and discussion, Connolly will hear how new projects will be implemented to ensure we are delivering clean water.

Police are searching for the shooter, described as a black male with a medium complexion, between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a thin build.

The condition or the identification of the victims was not released.

‘Rising’ ceremony held in anticipation of $40 million elementary school

Prince William County Public Schools on Wednesday, April 27 celebrating the Rising of Rosemount Elementary School near Manassas. The new $40 million elementary school is scheduled to open in August and will house 700 students.

It is a busy night for police and rescue crews in the Manassas area.

Just before 9 p.m., a Toyota Tacoma pickup and a Toyota Avalon sedan collided in front of the Stonewall Jackson Volunteer Fire Department at 7814 Garner Drive.

At 3:55 p.m., fire and rescue crews went to the 5000 block of Reardon Lane in Dale City about a mile from Hylton High School, for a fire at a single-family home.

Crews arrived to find a house fully involved, with heavy smoke conditions billowing from the home.

Tourism Board member resigns over new meals tax

A Prince William County Tourism Advisory Board member resigned following the passage of a new four percent meals tax on food and beverage purchased at county bars, restaurants, food trucks, and anywhere food and drinks are prepared and sold.

Occupant extracted from burning car, flown to hospital

A sedan ran off northbound Interstate 95, near the exit for Quantico, and into a wooded area. The car caught fire, trapping one person inside.

Crews worked to extinguish the blaze and found an unidentified occupant with a large head wound, according to initial reports.

Rescue crews find ‘donuts’ but no building collapse

Rescue crews were called Friday night after someone thought a car slammed into a strip mall.

At 11:27 p.m., fire and rescue crews went to a Regency Furniture store at 10318 Portsmouth Road near Manassas for a report of a partial building collapse.
