According to parks spokesman Amir Wenrich, the new $1 million building will feature permanent restrooms and accessibility improvements to expand recreational opportunities and accommodate more park users. The building also includes a concession area and storage space

Construction on the new building is expected to be completed in October 2022.


I-66 East will be closed with two-way traffic running on the I-66 west side so that crews can safely install bridge beams over the eastbound lanes. This work is part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

The ramp from Sudley Road north and south to I-66 east will also be closed nightly with detours posted.


Beginning Wednesday, March 30, 2022, and every Wednesday for the next few months, Prince William County Taxpayer Services Call Center will open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Every other day of the work week, the center will keep its regular 8 a.m to 5 p.m. hours. The center is closed on weekends.


In today’s Prince William County police report, a school resource officer was called int a classroom after a student claimed to have a bomb in his bag, police said.

Bomb Threat Investigation – On March 22 at 1:00PM, the School Resource Officer (SRO) assigned to Woodbridge High School, located at 3001 Old Bridge Rd. in Woodbridge (22192), was contacted regarding a student who made a bomb threat while on school grounds.

Human Trafficking Investigation – On March 21, detectives with the Special Investigations Bureau concluded an investigation into human trafficking that was reported to have occurred at two separate locations, the Red Roof Inn located at 17113 Dumfries Rd. in Dumfries and the Oak Hill General Store located at 12203 Kahns Rd. in Manassas (20112) that evening.


Beginning May 2, 2022, audience members will not be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative coronavirus test result before attending most events, except when required by the event organizer or artist.

If a performing artist requires proof of vaccination or a negative coronavirus test, a notice will be posted to the Hylton Performing Arts Center’s website.


Former Prince William County delegate turned lieutenant governor candidate Hala Ayala announced a bid for Virginia Senate today.

Ayala will run for the newly created 33rd District seat representing portions of south Fairfax, Lake Ridge, and Woodbridge. Currently, there is no incumbent in the district.
