The Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service and New York State Police, has captured Alyssa Jane Venable after a high-speed pursuit in New York. Venable is suspected of killing three adults in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, and is awaiting extradition.

Viviane Marie Louise “Brun” Morgan (Age 86)
Viviane Marie Louise “Brun” Morgan, 86, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, following an extended illness.
Deputies were called to the home on June 4, 2024, at 10 p.m. for a welfare check. Upon arrival, they discovered the bodies of the three adults, all of whom had sustained fatal upper body trauma. The subsequent investigation revealed that Venable, a roommate of the victims, was responsible for the murders, police said. She is currently wanted for three counts of 2nd Degree Murder and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, they add.
Major Elizabeth Scott of the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the investigation is still in its early stages, with detectives actively pursuing leads on Venable’s whereabouts. Authorities are withholding certain details to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
On June 5, Eric Yovany Melara, the final suspect in a February 12 assault in Haymarket, was arrested, joining two others previously apprehended. The altercation at a Sudley Road residence escalated, resulting in a 31-year-old woman being physically assaulted and a 25-year-old man threatened with a knife and firearm.
