Welcome back to a Potomac Local News series, “Meet Prince William.”
We’ve started this series so Prince William County residents can get to know the important people working behind the scenes to make the county run smoothly and efficiently. This is an opportunity to learn from experts on the county. Potomac Local has asked each leader the same questions in bold, and their respective answers will be found below.

NOKESVILLE, Va. – Brentsville District Supervisor Tom Gordy says a long-discussed project at Rollins Ford Park is finally moving forward, and it’s unlike anything else in Prince William County.
On a recent podcast interview, Gordy explained the basics of the new asphalt pump track approved last week by the Board of County Supervisors. “I’ll say right up front, I’m not an expert on pump tracks. I’ve never been on a pump track,” Gordy said. “But as I understand it, it is a track for bicycles… just by the sheer use of gravity and force by pumping your bike, it allows you to get airborne and do flips and do some exciting things. So this is going to provide a completely different type of recreational activity for the Brentsville District specifically, but for Prince William as a whole.”
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — A Spotsylvania man died after the car he was driving rear-ended a dump truck at a Fredericksburg intersection on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025, around 8:09 p.m., police said.
Fredericksburg police identified the driver as Christopher Hlusko, 39, of Spotsylvania. He was driving a 2011 Mitsubishi Galant when it struck the back of a dump truck that had stopped for a red light and begun moving when the signal turned green, according to police.
QUANTICO, Va. – A train blocked the only way in and out of the Town of Quantico on Wednesday morning, forcing Marine Corps officials to open a back gate that’s usually kept locked.
The train stopped at Potomac and Barnett Avenues, shutting down the sole everyday entrance to the town. Marine Corps Base Quantico said in a Facebook post that it opened Gate 3 on Broadway Avenue to let traffic flow while the crossing was blocked. The gate remained open until the train cleared, and officials later said traffic had “returned to normal.”
