Teacher union fight: The Prince William County School Board has once again moved the deadline for the county’s teacher’s union to present the signatures it collected in support of collective bargaining, this time saying the union has until May 4 to present its union cards for verification. Goat on loose prompts animal control to Dominion Valley

According to a 9-1-1 caller, a goat is on the loose near Haymarket.

Police and animal control were called to Merchants View Square, a shopping center off Dominion Valley Drive anchored by a Giant Food store, at about 8 a.m. According to initial reports, a goat was walking along a retaining wall at the shopping center.

Fire rips through Widewater home, displaces 6

A family and their pets were displaced on Wednesday after a fire in Widewater.

At 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, Stafford County Fire and Rescue units were called to a house fire on Viking Lane in the Widewater area, in the northeastern section of Stafford County near Potomac Point Winery.

Roller skating musical ‘Xanadu’ coming to stage at Workhouse

The musical Xanadu will take the stage at the Workhouse Arts Center.

The upcoming production, based on a book by Douglas Carter Beane, Music, and Lyrics by Jeff Lynne and John Farrar, and based on the Universal Pictures film, with a screenplay by Richard Danus and Marc Rubel, will run May 7 through June 11, 2022 (Friday and Saturday nights are at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m.)
