The capacity at a new fire station at Quantico Marine Corps Base will increase 900 percent.

A new 22,500-square-foot fire station, located at 27414 Route MCB-1, in Stafford, will open later this summer, by July or August. It sits n the west side of the base, down the street from the current Fire Station 533.


The survey asks up to seven questions about the features, experiences, and facilities that are, or will be planned for the downtown Visitor Center.

More than 50,000 people a year visit the city’s visitor center at 706 Caroline Street, where its sat since its opening in 1976. The center provides information about Fredericksburg – its history, where to eat, where to stay, and what to do.


It also brought down a whole of trees and limbs. Virginia Department of Transportation crews in Fredericksburg District continue to work seven days a week to collect roadside debris from the state right-of-way following the winter storm.

The total amount of debris to gather along Fredericksburg District routes is now estimated at 1.2 million cubic yards, increasing from earlier post-storm estimates.


The Workhouse Arts Foundation announced MusicWorks, an extended concert event featuring nationally recognized musical acts and local favorites. MusicWorks, featuring Cory Wong, Sierra Hull, and Oh He Dead, is set to take place on June 3, 2022.

Between sets, MusicWorks attendees will have the opportunity to explore the Workhouse campus, including its many galleries, art installations, and common spaces. The Workhouse also plans to offer food and drink during the show.


A Stafford man arrested yesterday faces several charges after the county received calls 911 calls about an incident in Stafford Market Place.

At 6:54 p.m. Deputy C.T. Richardson went to Stafford Market Place, at Route 610 and Interstate 95, for a disturbance. Callers said a man was creating a disturbance in the parking lot and at a business.
