Fredericksburg-area residents have a new healthcare option after opening a new emergency room on Route 3.
Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center opened its Fredericksburg ER at 5005 Plank Road in Spotsylvania. The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting on February 23.

Prince William County announced that registration for its summer camps would begin on March 7, 2023.
All children between three and 17 years old are eligible for registration.
The Fredericksburg Nationals have a season of fun planned for fans who attend games at the Virginia Credit Union Stadium, 42 Jackie Robinson Way in Fredericksburg.
The season begins at 7:05 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2023, at home on Fireworks Friday, when the team faces off against the Lynchburg Hillcats for a three-game homestand.
The Manassas Runway Run will return on April 30, 2023.

Police are searching for leads in a fatal crash that took the life of a 33-year-old woman from Fredericksburg. A passenger was also severely injured in their car ran off the road, and struck a tree.

The owner and operator of multiple Downtown Manassas restaurants will expand his empire and open two new locations in the old Okra’s Louisiana Bistro at 9910 Center Street.
Miguel Pires, owner of Zandra’s Taqueria in Manassas and Haymarket, operator of Great Etas Hospitality, Inc., will open Zengo, an Asian food restaurant that will take up the portion of the building that used to feature Okra’s bar and a neighboring building that used to house a coin shop.
OmniRide, the regional commuter bus provider, hinted at expanding service in Stafford County and offering service in Spotsylvania County for the first time.
The Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star reports the transit service plans to expand its operations in Stafford County from the Staffordboro Commuter Lot off Route 610 in North Stafford to commuter lots on Courthouse Road and off Route 17 and in the county’s central and southern sections, respectively.

Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears will be the headline speaker at the Prince William County Republican Committee’s annual fundraising dinner.
The county GOP will hold the dinner in Woodbridge.
The online class features videos with information about the function of each Stafford County Government Department. The course culminates with an in-person “graduation” at the Government Center.
The online class replaces the multi-week in-person “Citizens Academy” previously used to educate citizens about local government functions. The goal is to make the opportunity more accessible for more residents.
