Potomac Local has asked each principal the same questions in bold, and their respective answers will be found below.
Today, get to know Amanda Johnson, the new principal of The Nokesville School. Johnson has been a Prince William County Schools educator since the start of her career.
This year’s ballot will include candidates for United States president, the House of Representatives and Senate.
Starting Friday, the Office of Elections (9250 Lee Ave. Suite 1, Manassas) will be open for early voters. Early voting ends Nov. 2. And starting on Oct. 13, the following locations will be open for early voting:
On September 17, German Joseph Torres Lizama, the suspect wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Ashlin Yamileth Paz in Manassas, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Lynn, Massachusetts. The shooting occurred on July 18 near Pineview Rd and Cregger Ln, where officers responded to reports of a shooting and found Paz in a nearby wooded area with fatal gunshot wounds. Torres Lizama will remain incarcerated in Massachusetts until his extradition to Virginia.

The Fredericksburg Nationals have claimed their first Carolina League Championship since moving to Fredericksburg, defeating the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers in a thrilling series finale on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Virginia Credit Union Stadium. This marks the franchise’s first championship since 2014.
The FredNats rebounded from a loss in the second game of the series, played as part of a doubleheader due to a rainout, to clinch the title with a 3-0 victory in game three. In game two, the Nationals’ offense was stifled, as they managed just one hit in a 3-0 loss to Kannapolis, forcing a winner-takes-all third game.
The Prince William County Police Department, a nationally accredited law enforcement agency through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), has launched an online portal to gather community feedback as part of its accreditation process. The department is committed to maintaining the highest standards of service and professionalism, which includes actively engaging with residents, business owners, and visitors to ensure continuous improvement.
The online portal will allow community members to share their thoughts on the department’s adherence to CALEA standards, their engagement with the community, and the quality of public safety services. This portal is part of the department’s broader goal to foster a partnership with the community and uphold its pursuit of professional excellence.
