The Prince William County Park Ranger Division has announced they will be changing their on-call phone number beginning Friday, April 1, 2022.

To report a maintenance issue or emergency at a Prince William County Park or Recreation facility, residents should call 703-792-8889.


You’ve missed your chance if you haven’t already signed up to run the Marine Corps Marathon this year.

The 47th-annual running of the famous marathon will be held in person this year, the first time since 2019, and nearly 20,000 runners from all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and 47 countries are now set to run in the event.


A Stafford County student was honored as one of three winners of the fifth annual Virginia Lottery Thank a Teacher Art ContestJocelyn Turman, a seventh-grader at Edward Drew Middle School, won in the contest’s middle school category.

Three winners (one each from the elementary, middle, and high school levels) were selected from nearly 300 entries to have their artwork featured on thank-you notes distributed to thousands of teachers across the state during National Teacher Appreciation Week, May 2 through 6, 2022.

As a local PE teacher and running club sponsor, I enjoy seeing students and families participating in both the 5K runs and also the kids’ mile runs offered.


According to parks spokesman Amir Wenrich, the new $1 million building will feature permanent restrooms and accessibility improvements to expand recreational opportunities and accommodate more park users. The building also includes a concession area and storage space

Construction on the new building is expected to be completed in October 2022.

It commemorates the year the U.S. Marine Corps was founded and is one of nine events leading up to the annual Marine Corps Marathon in October.


This year, several celebrations are planned as Brentsville Courthouse, a former Prince William County seat, turns 200 years old.

County leaders just announced “Brentsville Bicentennial Court Day” on Saturday, April 30. This will be the largest bicentennial celebration honoring Brentsville. The area was once a bustling community full of agriculture and trade. Activities will include mock trials, historic tradespeople, militia muster, markets, music, food, and demonstrations.
