KO Distilling: “Manassas native, Music Director for the Bret Michaels Band, and Author, Pete Evick, has teamed up with Manassas craft distiller KO Distilling to release Bare Knuckle Evick Edition Bourbon.”

“This has been a deeply personal process to produce my bourbon,” said Evick. “We are bottling this bourbon at 98 proof to represent the year I signed my first record deal, and the barrels I chose from were filled during August, the month I was born. But the most important part is that the Evick Edition is produced in my hometown of Manassas, Virginia.”

Helix Helping Hands: “Helix Helping Hands is proud to announce our 4th Annual Blood Drive on Wednesday, July 12, from 8 am-2 pm at our Manassas office. This event is part of our ongoing mission to give back to the community.”

On Thursday, July 13, 2023, Locust Shade Park will hold a reptile show as a part of their “Reptile World” program at the park’s amphitheater at 4701 Locust Shade Drive, Triangle.

The “Reptile World” program was made to introduce reptiles from around the world to the audience. Its main goal is to increase students’ interest, connection, and awareness of the natural world and its reptilian species.


Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association: “Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin will join more than 500 representatives of VOICE (Virginians Organized for Interfaith Community Engagement), the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association, and the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police, during a Northern Virginia assembly on July 9 that is being held to highlight the impact of the mental health and drug use crisis on young people across the Commonwealth.”

Volunteers of America: “Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas (VOACC) will launch its annual Operation Backpack back-to-school campaign on July 7, 2023… The goal of this year’s campaign is to raise $50,000 and collect brand-new backpacks, supplies, and school uniforms to support at least 3,000 boys and girls from income-constrained families in Maryland, DC, Virginia & North Carolina.”

According to the National Center for Homeless Education, children experiencing homelessness are more likely to show delayed development and have twice the rate of learning disabilities compared to non-homeless children. Among children who experienced homelessness in the U.S. in 2018, less than 30 percent achieved academic proficiency in reading, mathematics, and science.”


Juke Box Diner in Manassas hosted the Fox News Channel’s morning show “Fox and Friends,” which did a series of live reports from the diner on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.

Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who came to the diner to appear on the show, talked about education and talked to Potomac Local News about the importance of hiring more police and supporting them in the field.


Marine Corps Heritage Foundation: “On [Thursday, July 06, 2023, 7:00 p.m.] the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation welcomes the U.S. Army Blues for another free summer concert at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle, Virginia. The Army Blues is the Army’s 18-piece jazz ensemble performing in the tradition of America’s unique art form, jazz.”
