The event runs Friday through Sunday, October 24–26, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Admission is $6 per player at Locust Shade Park, located at 4701 Locust Shade Drive, Triangle.

– An additional day of work is needed to complete a scheduled bridge inspection of Falmouth Bridge. Travelers can expect brief delays on Route 1 northbound between the City of Fredericksburg and Stafford County at Falmouth Bridge on Wednesday, Oct. 22, between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Route 1 northbound will be reduced to a single lane on the bridge during the inspection period.

REALTORS raise nearly $13,000 for local housing assistance through back-to-back fundraisers

Fredericksburg Area Association of REALTORS – The Fredericksburg REALTORS Foundation and Young Professionals Network (YPN) of the Fredericksburg Area Association of REALTORS (FAAR) turned two fun-filled fall events into meaningful community impact, raising nearly $13,000 in one weekend to be granted out to local housing charities. The fundraising began on Friday, October 10, with the annual Par for FAAR Foundation Charity Golf Tournament at Augustine Golf Club.

Proceeds from the Golf Tournament and Cheers for Charity Pub Crawl will support emergency housing assistance and nonprofit organizations serving Fredericksburg-area residents in need.

Sexual assault reported on Fredericksburg canal path

Fredericksburg Police Department (X) – The Fredericksburg Police Department is investigating a sexual assault that occurred Sunday, October 19, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m. on the canal path between Washington Avenue and Emancipation Highway in the area of Cossey Pond. The suspect is described as a male, approximately 5’4’’–5’5’’, medium build, possibly Middle Eastern, Hispanic, or Indian, last seen running toward Emancipation Highway and Mary Washington Boulevard.

The department stated that no weapons were displayed during the incident and that patrols will be increased along the canal path. Anyone with information or footage is urged to contact police or send an anonymous tip via text to “847-411” using the code “FPDtip.” Support for sexual assault victims is available through the Rappahannock Council Against Sexual Assault (RCASA) at rcasa.org or (540) 371-1666.

New name cleared for takeoff: ‘Aviator Avenue’ to replace Observation Road

City leaders will take another look today, Monday, Oct. 20, 2025 at redevelopment plans for the Manassas Shopping Center, the city’s 2026 legislative wish list for Richmond, and a proposal to name a new road near the Manassas Regional Airport “Aviator Avenue.”

The City Council work session begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Conference Room, 9027 Center Street. No votes are expected, but the discussion will set the stage for future public hearings and decisions.

Protect Stafford urges immediate adoption of stronger data center standards

Protect Stafford (Facebook) – Protect Stafford announced its position ahead of the October 21, 2025 Joint Public Hearing of the Stafford County Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission. The group urged supervisors to “adopt meaningful standards” for data centers at the meeting, warning that any delay could allow projects to proceed under weaker rules.
