Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: “On June 16th at approximately 1:25 a.m. Deputy S.C. Jett responded to the Best Western, located at 2868 Richmond Highway, for a report of a disturbance. Dispatch received an open line call where they could hear people, who sounded intoxicated, mention someone had a gun. When Deputy Jett arrived on scene, he made contact with a male and female. The female advised she was currently in possession of the firearm. Due to the limited information, both were detained while deputies investigated what occurred.”

“It was discovered the two located were part of a group at Jay’s Sports Lounge. The group was causing a disturbance and were asked to leave. As they were leaving, the male handled his firearm and discharged it. Sergeant K.P. Lytle located the discharged shell casing later on. The female took possession of the firearm and the bag it was concealed in prior to Deputy Jett’s arrival.”


Prince William

Prince William police: “Felony Child Neglect – On June 18 at 11:53AM, officers responded to an area hospital to investigate a child overdose that reportedly stemmed from a call at a residence located in the 12900 block of Eastham Ct in [Dale City] earlier that morning. The child, identified as a two-year-old girl, was initially brought to an area health care center on a medical call for difficulty breathing.”

“The child’s condition worsened, and she was transferred to a trauma center where it was later learned at some point the child had come into contact with cocaine and fentanyl. The investigation revealed at the time the child was in the custody of a family friend, identified as the accused. Once the victim began experiencing breathing concerns, the accused contacted the child’s mother who sought medical attention.”

It’s been a nail-biter of a Primary Election in the 29th Virginia Senate District, which includes eastern Prince William and northern Stafford counties.

Incumbent Democrat Jeremy McPike is trying to hold on to his seat but faces tough competition from challenger and current House of Delegates member Elizabeth Guzman.


Fairfax

Rozia Henson is the Democrat nominated for the House of Delegates 19th District seat in Woodbridge and southern Fairfax County.

Henson fended off two challengers, Makya Little, and Natalie Shorter, for his party’s nomination for the seat. There is no incumbent and no Republican challenger as of today.

Angry seeks a second term on the Prince William Board of County Supervisors, representing the Neabsco District. As of today, he has no Republican opponents.

Angry has served on the Board of County Supervisors since 2019, when he won a special election to replace John D. Jenkins, the longest-serving supervisor in county history, after his death in February of that year.

Fairfax

VPAP: Democrat Jennifer Carroll Foy beat her primary opponent Hala Ayala for her party’s nomination for the Virginia Senate 33rd District by 24 points.

Carroll Foy and Ayala both served in the House of Delegates until 2021, when both women faced each other in a Primary Election to be Lt. Governor sought higher office. Carroll Foy ran for governor, while Ayala ran for Lt. Governor.
