Press release: “On Tuesday, [June 27, 2023] Brentsville Supervisor Jeanine Lawson introduced a resolution at the Board meeting. This will commit the Board to abstain from scheduling certain land use public hearings during the period from Election Day, November 7, 2023, through the conclusion of the current Board’s term on December 31, 2023.”

The message conveyed by voters was clear that expediting development approvals without transparency and disregarding citizen input will bear consequences at the voting booth. In response, Supervisor Lawson’s resolution seeks to address public anxiety about the conduct of a lame duck Board.”
Updated 9:47 p.m. — Prince William police are investigating a shooting in front of a Domino’s Pizza on Route 1 in Woodbridge.
Shots rang out at about 8 p.m. in front of the pizza delivery, at 14402 Richmond Highway, in Prince William Plaza.

Habitat for Humanity Prince William County: “The Town of Dumfries presented Habitat for Humanity Prince William County a grant for $5,000 to support our Critical Home Repair Program! These funds were used to assist a community member living in the Town of Dumfries with restoring water use back to their home. Habitat for Humanity was contacted by a Dumfries community member who has lived in their home for 20 years.
“The partner family reported that their sewer line had busted and backed up into the basement of their home. Even worse, our partner family had been without water use in their home for months. With the help from the Town of Dumfries Mayor and City Council, Habitat Prince William was able to repair our partner family’s sewer line, and now our family can now use their water in the comfort of their home! Again, thank you Town of Dumfries for your support of Habitat in providing a hand-up in this project!”
Prince William County Public Schools: “Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) high school athletes had a successful 2022-23 spring sports season, yielding national and state champions. Congratulations to the following individuals and teams on their accomplishments.”
