Fredericksburg man wanted in Prince William murder case

Prince William police: “Murder Investigation *SUSPECT IDENTIFIED – On November 15, detectives identified a suspect involved in the fatal shooting that was reported to have occurred in the 3700 block of Wharf Ln. in Triangle (22172) on November 14.”

“While investigating the incident, detectives identified the suspect as Tyus James TERRELL, and obtained warrants for his arrest. While investigating the homicide, Prince William County detectives, with the assistance of the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, executed multiple search warrants in Spotsylvania County in connection to the ongoing investigation.”

Opening of I-95 north local lanes over Rappahannock postponed until Friday

“Additional time is needed Thursday evening and early Friday morning to finish paving the new connection between the Route 3 on-ramp and the new local lanes of I-95 northbound. A piece of paving equipment experienced mechanical issues, slowing construction overnight.”

“The I-95 northbound local lanes will open for entering Route 3 traffic by 4:30 a.m. Friday.”

Board of Education approves lab schools at Germanna Community College, University of Mary Washington

Virginia Governor’s Office: “The Virginia Board of Education today approved two new lab schools, Germanna Community College’s Future Educators Academy and University of Mary Washington’s Academy of Technology and Innovation. With three approved lab schools among 20 lab school applicants across the Commonwealth, Virginia is becoming a top national leader in lab school development.”

“The Board unanimously approved of Germanna Community College’s Future Educators Academy. FEA is an innovative model in collaboration with Germanna Community College, Laurel Ridge Community College, and James Madison University focused on an acceleration track for the next generation of high-quality teachers in the region. This lab school reinvigorates the current teacher cadre with innovative opportunities through observations and hands-on practicums and streamlines the pathway to teacher licensure by prioritizing an associate’s degree in high school and allowing students to complete their Bachelor’s degree in as little as two years after high school graduation.”

Dumfries woman, 40, dies in Beltway crash

Virignia State Police: “Virginia State Police is investigating a fatal crash in Fairfax County. The crash occurred Nov. 9, 2023, at 12:20 a.m. on Interstate 495 at the 175 mile marker.”

“A 1998 Honda Accord was traveling west on I-495 at slow rate of speed. The Honda was partially on the right shoulder and partially in the right travel lane. A westbound tractor-trailer was unable to avoid the Honda and clipped the Honda in the rear. The two vehicles then ran off the left side of I-495 and struck the Jersey wall. Both vehicles came to rest on the left shoulder.”
