Prince William County Parks and Rec: “July is Park and Recreation Month, and Prince William County Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism will celebrate all month long with a number of activities and events that showcase how Prince William County is a stronger, more vibrant and more resilient community because of parks and recreation.”
Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home & Crematory – Dale City: “Robert Harry Tyrrell, Age 96, of Woodbridge, Va., passed away, on June 22, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Graves Tyrrell. Robert was a lifelong resident of Prince William County…He served from 1942-1944 in the Seventh Fleet, mostly in the South Pacific. He was stationed at a PT boat base in the Philippines where he worked on boat engines.”
“Robert was in business for many years, raising cattle and hogs with his grandfather and uncle. Later, in the 1950’s, Robert and another uncle went into business building Custom Homes in the fast-developing Woodbridge area. In 1950, Robert took an agriculture class offered to WWII Veterans, and he and his four classmates wanted to do something to stay in touch. So, the five friends formed the Veterans Farm Club in Manassas, VA. The club decided to start planning a fair to be held August 31, 1950. From that day forward the PWC Fair was enjoyed for 70 years. Robert was an active member for all 70 years.”
Marine Corps Heritage Foundation: “On [Thursday, July 06, 2023, 7:00 p.m.] the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation welcomes the U.S. Army Blues for another free summer concert at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle, Virginia. The Army Blues is the Army’s 18-piece jazz ensemble performing in the tradition of America’s unique art form, jazz.”
“The concert begins at 7 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets. The Museum, Medal of Honor Theater, Rifle Range and Museum Store will remain open for extended hours until the concerts begin. Tun Tavern will also offer extended service from 4 – 6 p.m. Outdoor concessions will be available during the performance. Admission and parking are free. No tickets are required.”
Prince William police: “July 2, 2007, 25-year-old RAHSAAN GREGORY MACK was found on the ground in front of 18140 Kilmer Ln., Triangle. He was reportedly on his way to the building to visit relatives. An autopsy revealed he died from gunshot wounds. Case # 07-114336 PWCPD Tipline: 703-792-7000”
