An excessive heat warning is in effect from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, and an excessive heat watch remains in effect from Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening.
The warning indicates dangerously hot conditions with heat index values around 110 expected. The watch forecasts possible heat index values up to 110.

The alleged shooter was killed, the AP reports. As many as two other bystanders are dead, reports ABC News.
We have a local reaction coming in.
Many went to the Dollar Tree in Gainesville to find a note on the door stating that it was closed until further notice.
We asked the company what led to the closure, and it just sent us this message:
Marine Corps Base Quantico will conduct various training exercises from July 9 to July 17, 2024.
The base has been providing training services since 1917 and currently supports over 40 federal organizations, the Department of Defense, and multiple regional and local law enforcement agencies.
Police have found what appears to be a body floating in a lake at the Woodbridge Campus of Northern Virginia Community College.
“We are awaiting additional [information] to confirm, but it is most likely a person,” said Prince William police spokeswoman Renee Carr. “There is no public safety threat and no immediate indication of foul play.”
Officers were on Hazelwood Drive at about 3 p.m., in a rural area of Prince William County, to round up the cattle. It’s unclear how many cows are loose.
Drivers can expect some street closures while police whip out their lassos.

Eric Ronaldo Benitez, 22, of Croce Court, near Manassas is in custody. The second suspect, Tayvion Omari Thornton, 18, of Cove Landing Drive in Woodbridge, is wanted.
Benitez is charged with two counts of malicious wounding, 1 count of willfully discharging a firearm in a public place, and one count of using a gun in the commission of a felony.
