Manassas is planning to purchase the Manassas Shopping Center on Mathis Avenue for $16 million to bolster local economic development.
Aspiring law enforcement officers will have a unique opportunity to connect with multiple agencies at a significant recruiting event scheduled for Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will occur at Virginia Credit Union Stadium, 42 Jackie Robinson Way in Fredericksburg.

Students will be dismissed early on Friday, June 7, 2024, the last day of school for the 2023-24 school year.
At 9:28 p.m. on May 29, Stafford County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a crash in the 600 block of Kellogg Mill Road. The accident involved a 2011 Toyota Camry, which had veered off the road for reasons still under investigation.

Da’John Lancaster, a wanted man, was taken into custody after a manhunt in North Stafford and charged with multiple offenses, including attempted aggravated murder and malicious wounding. Lancaster, already wanted for felony intimidation and a weapons offense, was apprehended on May 30 following a high-risk traffic stop.

The 30th Annual Manassas Railway Festival will take place on June 1, 2024. It will offer a day filled with train-themed activities, historical exhibits, and family-friendly fun. Hosted by Historic Manassas, Inc., the festival will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. downtown Manassas, providing a unique opportunity to celebrate the town’s rich railroad history.
