A 13-year-old boy died after he was struck by a car while crossing busy Route 15 near Battlefield High School near Haymarket.

The collision occurred at 12:36 p.m. Tuesday, October 19. The boy was crossing the four-lane road when a Honda Odyssey van struck the child. The van had a green light, and the driver remained on the scene, police said.

Man, 19, killed in Bristow car crash

From Prince William police: On October 16 at 2:44PM, officers responded to area of Linton Hall Rd and Rollins Ford Rd in Bristow (20136) to investigate a single vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 1999 Lexus GS300 was traveling eastbound on Linton Hall Rd at a high rate of speed when the vehicle began to hydroplane. The driver lost control of the vehicle which then left the roadway and struck an electric pole. The driver was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. The investigation continues.

[Updated Saturday, Oct. 16, 8:35 am] The Virginia Endangered/Missing Child Alert for the Stafford County juvenile has been cancelled. Per the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, the child has been located.

Late Friday night, Virginia State Police reported A 7-year-old girl had gone missing from her Stafford County home.

A 60-year-old Dumfries man has died after he was struck by a car late last month.

Felony Hit and Run [Previously Released] – On September 30 at 12:17AM, officers responded to the 4300 block of Inn St. in Triangle (22172) to investigate an unconscious man in the roadway. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 60-year-old man, was walking in a dimly lit area of the roadway, when he was struck by a maroon-colored vehicle. The victim came to rest in the eastbound lane of travel where he was located by another motorist who contacted the police. The striking vehicle did not stop at the scene and continued driving. The victim was flown to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. No further information on the driver or striking vehicle is available at this time. The investigation continues.

A total of 74 new “two over two” homes are being built at Potomac Town Center.

Lennar Homes, the builder, says the new homes should be ready for occupancy in February 2022. The new homes are being built across from the OneLife Fitness gym and are the second set of condominiums to be built at the town center.

Bullets fly in Woodbridge

From Prince William police: On October 12 at 8:29PM, officers responded to the 1400 block of Cottonwood Ct. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed that two groups of individuals were near the above area when gunfire was exchanged. Some of the individuals from one of the groups ran to a nearby residence and contacted the police, while other individuals fled in a light-colored vehicle prior to police arriving in the area. No injuries were reported. While canvassing officers located two unoccupied vehicles that sustained damage consistent with being struck by projectiles. This incident does not appear random. The investigation continues.
