“It is a master class of emotions,” InsideNoVa reported. “From the highest point you can get to the lowest point – and somewhere in between, there’s a heck of a lot of joy and excitement. The show is a quintessential show.”

“We’re called ‘Hardeman and Hardeman,’ the law firm,” Seth Hardeman said. “We’re a duo in California and at home.”

Manassas

A hit-and-run at a busy Manassas intersection just before New Year’s Eve left several people injured and capped off a month of serious vehicle incidents in the city.

Around 10:30 p.m. on December 30, a silver Hyundai sedan ran a red light at Sudley Road and Stonewall Road, crashing into two vehicles. The occupants of the Hyundai fled before police arrived and are believed to have been picked up by another car. Victims in the struck vehicles were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

The arrival of 2026 brought more than fireworks and celebrations across the region — it welcomed some of our newest residents.

Hospitals in Fredericksburg, Stafford, and Manassas marked the start of the New Year by welcoming their first babies of 2026, each arrival bringing joy, hope, and a memorable beginning for families and medical teams.

Manassas

A narcotics investigation led Manassas police to a major drug bust and the arrest of two women wanted in multiple jurisdictions. On December 27, 2025, officers with the Special Problems Unit were investigating a possible drug operation at a home on Bruton Parish Court when they spotted a known wanted individual entering the residence.

Police obtained permission to enter and quickly discovered suspected drugs and paraphernalia in plain view. Two women—ages 30 and 21—were found hiding in a bathroom and arrested. A search of the home turned up more than 230 small bags of suspected crack cocaine, additional drugs including PCP, and packaging materials commonly used in drug distribution.

Fredericksburg

The City of Fredericksburg has finished restoration work on the bell tower of the historic Renwick Courthouse, a key landmark at 815 Princess Anne Street. The project marks a major step in preserving the 19th-century building, designed by renowned architect James Renwick Jr., who also designed the Smithsonian Castle and St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

The tower houses a rare 600-pound bronze bell cast at the Paul Revere Foundry in Boston—one of just 134 surviving Revere bells and the only known one in Virginia. Restoration began in May 2025 and was completed by WxTite, LLC of Greensboro, North Carolina. Work included structural framing repairs, masonry repointing, and restoration of historic stucco and stone details. Contractors carefully preserved the bell and used historically appropriate materials.

Police Blotter

Prince William County police investigated two separate incidents involving gunfire into homes on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day—fortunately, no injuries were reported in either case.

In Woodbridge, around 5:16 a.m. on January 1, a bullet shattered a glass door at the Dale Forest Apartments on Wabash Place. Two shell casings were found nearby. The day before, near Manassas, a bullet entered a home on Lucasville Road around 3:26 p.m. No injuries were reported in either incident, and both cases are under investigation as reckless handling of a firearm.

Weather

A period of light snow is possible early Wednesday morning across the Baltimore–Washington metro area, with the greatest concern during the morning commute. There is about a 30% chance of snow, but even a light coating could make roads slick and icy during rush hour. If snow develops, drivers could see slow travel, accidents, and delays before conditions improve later in the morning. Residents are urged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and consider telework or public transportation if possible.
