Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: “LARCENY: ABC, 1630 Publix Way, 7/23, 1:19 p.m. Deputy A.J. Layug responded to a report of Jose missing. “Staff advised a male came into the store and stole a bottle of Jose Cuervo Silver. Jim Beam did not see the larceny occur.”

LARCENY:Wawa, 15 Eustace Road, 7/23, 11:44 p.m. Deputy C.C. Crossett responded to even more alcohol being stolen. Staff advised a male stole approximately $50 worth of beer. Deputy Crossett’s amazing memory was on full display as he watched camera footage and recognized the suspect from a previous arrest. Warrants have not yet been obtained.”

Prince William Police Department:Murder Investigation *ARREST | VICTIM IDENTIFIED – On July 21, the juvenile suspect sought in connection to the murder of an 18-year-old man that occurred the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court of Prince William County for the purposes of apprehension Detectives are requesting anyone with information regarding this investigation to contact police at 703-792-6500 or submit a tip online.”

“Arrested on July 21: [Juvenile] Court Date: Pending | Status: In-Custody Identified: The victim was identified as Jayson LEWIS, 18, of Stafford.”

Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger: “U.S. Representative Abigail Spanberger is leading bipartisan legislation to make sure children can be seated next to their parents on flights for no extra fees.”

“Congress passed the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reauthorization bill in 2016. This law included language that required the U.S. Secretary of Transportation to establish a policy — if appropriate — requiring airlines to seat young children with their family members on flights without charging them additional fees. However, families across the country continue to be separated from their children during air travel.”

Prince William County Police:Sexual Assault Investigation – On July 19, 2023, detectives concluded an investigation into multiple sexual assaults that were reported to have occurred at a residence in the 8800 block of Calbera Ct. in Gainesville (20155) between January 2015 and November 2022.”

“The investigation revealed two female victims, who were under the ages of 13 and 15 during the above timeframe, were sexually assaulted on more than one occasion by a family member, identified as the accused. The victims reported the incidents in November 2022 prompting the police investigation.”


Prince William

Prince William County: “Today, Prince William County launched Fentanyl Exposed, a fentanyl overdose prevention campaign targeting at-risk youth and young adults in the greater Prince William County area. The campaign seeks to empower and educate young people about the risks and dangers of fentanyl-laced substances, such as illicit pills and powders, while providing critical knowledge on how to reduce the risk of a fatal overdose. Fentanyl Exposed is the first campaign in Prince William County to provide fentanyl prevention messaging specifically for teens.”

“Fentanyl, which is 50 times more potent than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine, causes more deaths among people under 50 in the United States than cancer, heart disease, suicide, homicide and accidents, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Fentanyl is everywhere and use of the deadly, synthetic opioid in the greater Prince William County area has been on the rise since 2018.”

Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: “CRIMINAL ACTIVITY – North Stafford, 7/19, 8:02 p.m. Deputy B.E. Vaughn responded to a complaint involving criminal activity on Snapchat.”

“A parent reported her 12-year-old daughter had received inappropriate messages from an adult male over the social media app and the suspect had sent an illicit photo. The incident is under investigation. Parents are reminded to speak with their children about the dangers of social media and monitor their child’s activity on social media sites.”


Prince William

Prince William County Government: “After the Battle of First Manassas on July 21, 1861, Ben Lomond House served as a Confederate field hospital where soldiers from Virginia, Georgia, and Mississippi were treated for their battle wounds.”

“On Saturday, July 22, 2023, the Ben Lomond Historic Site, located at 10321 Sudley Manor Drive in Manassas, will host its Civil War Hospital Weekend between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. with demonstrations, activities, and talks about how the Civil War hospital operated for 35 days.”
