On March 13 at 5:26 a.m., officers went to the 2000 block of Cumberland Drive in the Marsumsco Hills section of Woodbridge for a hit-and-run crash.
The investigation revealed that a 2008 Audi A4 driver struck two unoccupied parked vehicles, a 2020 Toyota Corolla and a 2016 Ford F350. The Audi was rendered inoperable due to significant damage sustained during the crash.
A man struck by a car in Woodbridge last month has died.
On February 24 at 6:19 p.m., investigators with the Crash Investigation Unit went to River Ridge Road and Route 1 to investigate a pedestrian crash.

Virginia Republicans are taking a swipe at Democrats who blamed rising gas prices on price gouging this week.
House Democratic Leader Eileen Filler-Corn called on Governor Glenn Youngkin to issue an executive order declaring a state of emergency due to Russia’s continued, unprovoked war against Ukraine. In doing so, she said, the action would prompt activate the Virginia Post-Disaster Anti-Price Gouging Act and provide the Attorney General with powerful tools to protect Virginians from “unconscionable” prices at the pump.
The exit from Interstate 66 West to Route 28 North and Braddock Road/Walney Road will be relocated about a half mile east of the old exit Friday morning, March 18.
The new exit location is immediately after the I-66 bridge over Stringfellow Road and will be the permanent location for this exit as part of the Transform 66 Outside of the Beltway Project, to add E-ZPass lanes between the Capital Beltway and Haymarket.

(The Center Square) – The Biden administration extended the federal mask mandate for public transportation Thursday even as states and local governments around the country drop their mandates.
Today, Virginia Department of Transportation crews are preparing staff, equipment, and materials to mobilize Saturday morning in emergency response ahead of an anticipated storm that’s expected to bring rain, winds, and snow to the area.
According to VDOT, crews will be ready to clear downed trees and debris, apply treatment materials to reduce icing and improve traction on Interstate 95, primary and high-volume secondary roads, and receive support from tree contractors, if required. Crews will remain on stand-by through the weekend as needed to respond to any hazardous road conditions.

Route 628 (American Legion Road) in Stafford County will close at the bridge over Interstate 95 on Monday, April 4 to construct a new overpass as part of the 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension project.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics Thursday reported that the Consumer Price index, a major marker of inflation, rose 7.9% in the previous 12 months.
