Stafford County Sheriff is asking for public assistance in investigating an April 12 shooting. Deputies reported to Shasta Place at 10:38 p.m. and learned a red vehicle may have been involved. Several vehicles were shot, but no injuries were reported. The police are asking citizens to review any video cameras that may have captured footage of the incident or a suspicious vehicle.
Stafford County authorities are still looking for a bank robber who simply peddled away.
From Stafford sheriff’s office:
A sinkhole formed on Route 610 Road in North Stafford.
VDOT crews are on the scene to repair the hole in the center of the westbound portion of the street at Novak Drive. Garrisonville is reduced to a single westbound and eastbound lane near Novak Drive to allow crews to investigate the cause of the sinkhole and make repairs.
Updated 5:45 p.m. — Police tell us one person outside Conway Elementary School had a weapon and was arrested.
Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Ryan Wilbur says:
Stafford County Supervisor Deuntay Diggs will hold his first town hall meeting on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Stafford High School.
Diggs represents the George Washington District, said he’ll be joined by elected School Board member, Susan Randall, also of George Washington, as well as residents whom Diggs appointed to several county boards and commissions.
Today, those five employees are walking free after being released by a county magistrate after they promised to return to Stafford to appear in court.

“Hopefully this alert doesn’t put you in a trashy mood. Andrew Chapel Road is currently closed in the area of the railroad overpass and Brooke Road due to a stuck trash truck,” the Stafford sheriff’s office reports.
A press release indicates that the Traffic Safety Unit revealed the victim went outside to check her mailbox when the driver traveling eastbound on the two-lane Widewater Road struck her. The driver of the striking vehicle remained on the scene and was uninjured.
The pedestrian was identified as Shelley Moncure of Stafford.
A Stafford man lost his life while riding a motorcycle on Thursday, March 14.
At 5:17 p.m.deputies were called to the intersection of Joshua Road and Greenleaf Terrace for a report of an auto accident. Deputies arrived on the scene and discovered the two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.
The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is offering Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) classes designed exclusively for women ages 12 and older. The classes aim to equip participants with realistic self-defense tactics and techniques to enhance awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and avoidance strategies.
Scheduled to commence on April 23, the classes will continue on April 30, May 7, and May 14 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Each session will be conducted at the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office at 1225 Courthouse Rd. Registration for the upcoming class can be completed through this link.
