PURSUIT

Sheehy Toyota, 95 Garrisonville Road, 12/4, 1:13 a.m. Deputy B.E. Vaughn responded to a call of a suspicious sedan in the area. When Deputy Vaughn arrived in the area, he observed the suspect vehicle. The vehicle began to drive away as Deputy Vaughn gave commands and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle traveled on Greenspring Drive accelerating to 86 MPH in a 25 MPH zone. The driver  decided to stop at the intersection of Vine Place and Tanglewood Lane. It was discovered the driver did not have a driver’s license. They were charged with eluding and driving without a license. They were held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a secured bond.

Virginians interested in obtaining a REAL ID compliant driver’s license or identification card now have two additional years to apply before federal identification requirements change at America’s airports.

In a news release today, the federal government announced the extension of the enforcement deadline for REAL ID to May 7, 2025. The REAL ID enforcement deadline was May 3, 2023.

Thirty-eight businesses received a ‘Certificate of Occupancy’ or official letter to ‘Open for Business’ from the Prince William County Department of Development Services’ Small Business Project Management Program in September 2022, bringing the year-to-date total to 296 ‘Open for Business.’

On December 5 at 5:58 a.m., investigators with the Prince William County Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Richmond Hwy near Russell Road in Quantico to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian.

Multiple callers contacted the Public Safety Communications Center to report a man walking in the roadway in the above area. Prior to officers arriving at the location, the man had been struck by a vehicle.

Brooke Point, Colonial Forge, and Mountain View High Schools have earned recognition as Working in Support of Education (W!se) Financial Literacy Blue Star Schools for the 2021-2022 school year for outstanding student performance on the W!se Financial Literacy Certification Test.

To receive this distinction, a school testing more than ten students must achieve an 80% passing rate on the W!se Financial Literacy Certification Test. Additionally, the school must have either a majority of students in a given grade level take the test, or have the students who took the test achieve a minimum average score of 85%.

Embrey Mill, an 831-acre community located off Interstate 95 in North Stafford, will host its sixth annual holiday race series, the Frosty 3-Miler and Reindeer Run, Saturday, December 10, 2022.

The start time is 9 a.m. Participants must be in the starting area by 8:50 a.m.Prizes will be awarded in each age group, including a cash prize for the top three male and female runners. The one-mile Reindeer Run is for children 12 and under.
