Updated Thursday, September 29, 2022 — A man was struck and killed while walking in a roadway near Manassas, police said.

On Tuesday, September 27 at 8:02 p.m., investigators with the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Balls Ford Road, near Coppermine Drive near Manassas, to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian.

On Monday, September 27, at 7:30 p.m., officers responded to the Stone Pointe Apartments located in the 14900 block of Potomac Heights Place in Woodbridge to investigate a shooting.

Officers found a 29-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound and provided first aid until rescue personnel arrived.  They flew the man to an area hospital, where they determined his injuries were non-life threatening.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is working to solve a case of breaking and entering.

On Saturday, September 24, at 5:18 p.m., deputies responded to a home on Hartwood Road. The resident, who was not home at the time the crime occurred, called 911 after cameras at their house showed multiple people breaking into the residence.

On Sunday, September 25, at 5:50 p.m., officers were called to the 14400 block of Club House Road in the Virginia Oaks neighborhood in Gainesville to investigate a shooting. The investigation revealed a man was walking along the street and pointing a firearm at passing drivers.

One of the motorists, an off-duty federal law enforcement officer with the Department of Homeland Security Federal Protective Service, pulled to the side of the road a short distance away and observed the accused firing into the air.

A second suspect in a Woodbridge double murder is in custody thanks to the late-night work of the Prince William County Police SWAT team.

On Monday, September 19, detectives arrested second teenager police said was present during the shooting deaths of the two victims, who were slayed inside of an apartment in the block of Mary’s Way in Woodbridge on May 15.
