Breweries
A chance conversation and a homebrewing hobby eventually led to the creation of Barley Naked Brewery, one of North Stafford’s most recognizable community gathering places.
In this Hometown Highlights series, Mark Worrilow of Fathom Realty brings nearly three decades of local real estate experience to Northern Virginia, helping buyers, sellers, and agents navigate the market with professionalism, integrity, and deep community knowledge.
“The public doesn’t know that this is a separation at all,” co-owner Sam Gray said. “We want them to know that this is the Workhouse Arts campus, and everybody works together at the same time,” InsideNoVa reported. “The addition of food and beverage options over the past year has been a massive contributor to our record-setting attendance, and it’s helped us attract a new audience and encourage guests to stay longer and enjoy more of what the Workhouse has to offer.”
STAFFORD, Va. – More than 100 people gathered at Embrey Mill Town Center on Friday morning as four Stafford County craft breweries unveiled a set of beers brewed specially for the 250th anniversary of the U.S. in 2026.
The announcement came during the Fox 5 Zip Trip broadcast just after 9 a.m., where the plaza buzzed with vendors, nonprofit groups, a police and fire presence, and a live DJ providing a festive soundtrack. Each brewery created a unique beer inspired by American history and available starting today.
WOODBRIDGE, Va. – Brew Republic Bierwerks, a longtime fixture in the Stonebridge Town Center, will permanently close its doors after nearly nine years in business.
According to a message shared by the brewery, its landlord has terminated the lease, and with the high costs of relocating and ongoing challenges in the restaurant and brewery industries, the owners have decided not to reopen elsewhere. “This isn’t the opportunity-rich environment breweries had experienced in 2016 when we opened,” they wrote.
Early Wednesday evening, they gather in the side parking lot and head out for a 90-minute ride on a few routes through the city before coming back to wet their whistle on the wide variety of in-house brews the brew master creates at Red Dragon.
“The group is open to everyone,” said Red Dragon owner Mark Perry. “Some ride in from Stafford,” he added.
STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. – Newly added brewing equipment at Highmark Brewery in Stafford County takes this already-established name in local beer to another level. Moving beyond its menu of eight standards and a few rotating beer types, Highmark is setting a new note on the brew scene with the recent installation of three new fermentation tanks, three extractors, and a modern keg washer.
“To continue to expand, we needed to update,” said brewmaster Josh Alley whose been with them a few years as they waded through the ups and downs. With the new equipment, “we’ll be able to put new rotating styles out and possibly get back into canning,” Alley said.
STAFFORD, Va. – Brewing wants your help naming a key part of its identity—the horse in its logo.
In a playful twist, the family-owned brewery announced it never gave the horse a name and is now turning to customers to fix that. Through May 18, guests visiting the taproom can submit their best name ideas by writing them down and dropping them into the suggestion box at the bar. The brewery’s owners will narrow the list to five finalists.
MANASSAS, Va. – Farm Brew LIVE, one of the region’s top spots for beer, food, and live music, has a new name and an expanded vision. Villagio Hospitality Group announced that the 10-acre entertainment campus in Manassas is now officially NOVA LIVE.
The rebrand reflects more than a name change. According to a press release from Visit Prince William, it signals a “new phase of growth and innovation,” including new dining options, enhanced entertainment, and even overnight accommodations on the way.
