Police nab suspect in Woodbridge robbery
From Prince William police: On October 7 at 3:00PM, officers responded to the Avon store located at 13943 Jefferson Davis Hwy. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. The store owner reported to police that an unknown man entered the store and approached him. After a brief verbal exchange, the man, later identified as the accused, pushed the store owner out of the way and went behind the counter to cash register.
We’re now seeing the first signs that “The Rose” will be budding.
A longtime business, 2 Guys Antiques, at 17682 Main Street in Dumfries, lost its lease and will move to Triangle. After 16 years, the building will be demolished to expand Colonial Street, which will serve as the main entrance to the The Rose hotel and gaming complex.
Dumfries man charged burglaries
A Dumfries man charged in connection to a home burglary that occurred on Wednesday is now also tied to a series of burglaries at businesses that occurred over the summer.

Both ACTS and SERVE continue to have an Urgent need for Food Pickup Drivers, age 21+ to support their food assistance programs on weekends. Volunteers drive to area grocery stores/restaurants to pick up food donations and deliver back to the appropriate warehouse. Be prepared to lift boxes weighing 30 pounds or more. Drivers for SERVE must commit to twice a month for at least 6 months. Training is provided at both agencies. This is a wonderful way to give back to the community, especially with the holidays approaching! Shots fired during string of carjackings at apartment complex
From the Prince William police department: On October 2 at 3:51AM, officers responded to investigate a shooting that was reported to have occurred in the area of Summerland Dr. and Gardenview Lp. in Woodbridge (22191) earlier that morning.
