The Prince William County Department of Transportation will seek feedback from residents about a $53.3 million, seven-story parking garage in Woodbridge.

The county will hold a Design Public Hearing in the Prince William County Board Chambers at the McCoart Building at 2 p.m., Sept. 20, 2022, where they can learn more about the plan to build 1,400 spaces on a county-owned property that was once earmarked for the construction of Minor League Baseball stadium for the Potomac Nationals, at 2501 Opitz Boulevard, across from Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge.

Updated 4:15 p.m. — Residents say they’re doing the heavy lifting and negotiating with data center firms to help protect their neighborhoods and quality of life.

They want the local Prince William County Government to step in and do more to protect residents as more data centers — the backbone of the internet — encroach on the surrounding areas outside Manassas and western Prince William County.


Police tell us:

Shooting Investigation – On August 28 at 4:10PM, officers responded to investigate a shooting that reportedly occurred in the 13900 block of Richmond Hwy. in Woodbridge (22191) earlier that day. Officers were initially called to an area hospital where a 46-year-old man was being treated at the facility for non-life threatening gunshot wound. While investigating, officers were informed a second gunshot wound victim, a 22-year-old man, who was also being treated for non-life threatening injuries at an area hospital. The investigation revealed a group of individuals, including the victims, were in the above area when multiple rounds were fired from a vehicle towards the group, striking both victims. The light-colored sedan immediately fled the area. No additional injuries or property damage were reported. While checking the area, officers located shell casings in the roadway.


While they always haven’t had a town hall in Occoquan, they’ve held regular town business meetings for years.

Town Mayor Earnie Porta tells us the town staff uncovered meeting minutes dating back about 90 years to the early 1930s. Porta says some meetings were held inside shops and inside people’s homes.

The festival is an annual family-friendly community arts festival produced jointly by the Prince William County Arts Council, the County Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism, and the Hylton Performing Arts Center.

The festival is free to attend and features Prince William County Arts Council members and other community performers and fine artists. There will be activities for all ages and multiple stages of performances indoors and outdoors, including:


The man shot and killed outside Manassas is Dalton Jakob Moore, 25, of no fixed address.

Somone shot Moore at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, August 19, in the area of Sudley Manor Drive and Williamson Boulevard. Moore and two others were sitting on a sidewalk in front of a 7-Eleven store when a man walked up to them from behind the building.


Prince William County fire crews went to a home in the 13000 block of Langstone Drive in Dale City for a reported house fire at 1:07 a.m. Crews arrived with heavy fire and smoke emitting from the rear of the home, said fire department Assistant Chief Matt Smolksy.

One of the home’s occupants found the fire and alerted the others. All made it out, and no one was injured. The house sustained extensive damage.


A new Texas Roadhouse will open soon in Manassas, joining locations in Woodbridge, Fredericksburg.
