Fire and rescue personnel responded to the scene where the pedestrian was pronounced deceased.”

“The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene. Speed, alcohol, or drug use were not factors in the collision with the driver of the vehicle. The investigation continues.”


Prince William Police Department:Brandishing of a Firearm | Road Rage Related – On July 12 at 5:48PM, officers responded to the area of Ridgefield Rd. and Prince William Pkwy. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a brandishing.”

“The investigation revealed the victim, a 52-year-old man, was driving on Ridgefield Rd. when he was involved in a road rage incident with the driver of a grey Infiniti. During the encounter, the driver of the Infiniti pulled his vehicle up to the side of the victim’s vehicle and brandished a firearm towards the victim before quickly driving off.”

Prince William Times: “The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality has fined Churchill Downs Group, owner of the forthcoming “The Rose” gaming resort in Dumfries, nearly $15,000 for environmental violations related to its construction on the former Potomac Landfill site.”

“Until 2022, the site of the new resort, now being built along Interstate 95 in Dumfries, was known as the Potomac Landfill. Colonial Downs, the original owner of The Rose, closed the landfill as part of the deal to build the future gaming resort there.”


Prince William County Supervisors approved amended its collective bargaining ordinance, allowing full-time employees to negotiate salaries and benefits.

Prince William County Public Schools: “Third-grade students at Occoquan Elementary School took home a big prize in the Michael & Sons jingle contest.”

“This annual competition is open to students from Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, and Washington D.C. This year, there were almost 50 elementary schools that entered. Judging was based off social media engagement – likes, shares, and comments, with each one counting as one vote.”


Prince William County Police Department: Aggravated Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related – “On July 11 at 9:32 PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 7400 block of Boundary Ave. in Manassas (20111) to investigate a shooting.”

“Upon arrival, officers located the victim, a 66-year-old man, suffering from a gunshot wound and immediately provided first aid until fire and rescue personnel arrived on the scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he is expected to recover.”


“The failed resolution introduced by Brentsville Supervisor Jeanine Lawson marked another unsuccessful effort by data center opponents to halt the Digital Gateway development that proposes 27.6 million square feet of data centers on 2,139 acres along Pageland Lane near Gainesville.”


Virignia Railway Express: “Due to this morning’s incident involving an Amtrak train just south of Union Station, VRE service will continue to be impacted tomorrow. Train traffic is still suspended going into and out of Union Station, and we still are unable to retrieve our train equipment from the coachyard north of Union Station. This evening, we used the five train sets that had not entered the coachyard this morning to run as much service as possible. We plan to do the same for Wednesday, July 12 tomorrow morning.”
