The northbound lanes will close for a reversal from about 10:30 p.m. Saturday to 12:30 a.m. on Sunday. The lanes will then run southbound from 12:30 to about 1:30 a.m.
From 1:30 to 3:30 a.m., the lanes will reverse again, fully reopening northbound at about 3:30 a.m.
Virginia State Police is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash in Fauquier County. The crash occurred Thursday, Sept.8, 2022, at 8:26 p.m. along Interstate 66 at the 16 mile-marker in Fauquier County.
A Winnebago RV was traveling east on I-66 when it collided with an eastbound tractor-trailer. The impact caused the RV to run off the interstate, through the guardrail, down an embankment, and into several trees.
Geraldi Diaz homered and picked up a couple of RBIs, but the FredNats fell for the first time at Salem Memorial Ballpark 4-2 Friday. The FredNats still lead the six-game series 3-1.
Diaz came up with a sacrifice fly in the seventh and his fourth homer of the season in the ninth to bring the FredNats halfway back from a 4-0 deficit. Jared McKenzie finished with two hits and a run scored.

Taxes on cars, boats, RVs, and other items are up this year at eye-popping levels as, unlike in previous years, older cars appreciated, resulting in a higher tax bill from tax assessors across the state.
Man charged with pulling knife on cops, medical, slashing tires on 33 cars
September 7 at 5:34PM, officers responded to the commuter lot located at 14090 Gemini Way in [Dale City] to investigate damage to numerous vehicles. The investigation revealed an unknown man slashed tires and damaged multiple vehicles in the lot before leaving the area on foot. Later that evening, officers responded to the 14700 block of Darbydale Ave. to assist rescue personnel with a man, later identified as the accused, who was possibly unconscious.

Stafford County detectives have made an arrest in a murder at a North Stafford apartment complex.
On Wednesday, September 7 at 10:36 p.m., deputies responded to a shooting on Declaration Drive. They arrived to find Anthony Jermaine Johnson, 45, of Stafford, on the ground in front of an apartment building suffering from a gunshot wound.

The governor signed two identical pieces of legislation, HB 1128 and SB 528, which will exempt up to $40,000 of veteran retirement pay from taxes and prioritize Virginia’s Military and Veteran Community.
“When I had the great privilege elf being hired by all of you, we expressed a great series of commitments, and you’re at the top of the list of that commitment: to go work on a bi-partisan basis to make Virginia the most military and veteran-friendly state in America,” said Youngkin.
