Prince William County Clerk of the Circuit Court Jacqueline C. Smith will host an open house and dedication ceremony for the Prince William County Public Law Library Friday, Dec. 9, 2022, at 5 p.m.

The open house and dedication ceremony will be held at the Judicial Center, 9311 Lee Avenue, Manassas, Virginia.

Commercial Burglary *FINAL ARREST – On December 8, the second suspect sought in connection to the burglary that was reported to have occurred at Pitkin’s Ace Hardware located at 4340 Dale Blvd. in Dale City on October 12, was arrested. The suspect, Michael Kirk SMITH Jr., was located and taken into custody in Charles County Maryland where he will remain until extradited to Virginia. A 55-year-old man was previously arrested on November 16 in connection to the burglary investigation.

On November 9, while investigating the incident, detectives identified the two suspects who were observed on video surveillance removing property from the store. On November 16, one of the men, identified as Jeffrey Francis KRANZ. was arrested by Fairfax County police.


Breaking News

On June 23 at 3:03 a.m., officers responded to the Somerset Pointe Apartments located in the 14700 block of Soapstone Drive in Gainesville to investigate an initial report of an unconscious 20-month-old child.

Police and fire and rescue personnel responded to the apartment after the mother of the child, identified as the accused, reported the two were co-sleeping when she woke to find him unconscious.

Five Prince William County Public School (PWCS) students were among six finalists selected to present at the 33rd annual Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Oratorical Competition and Program on January 16, 2023.

This event is held each year in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on the MLK Day holiday by the Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (PWCAC-DST). The speeches are one component of the celebration, now in its 38th year, that will be broadcast as a free virtual event on the chapter’s YouTube Channel, PWCAC DST YouTube Channel (PWCAC-DST-MEDIA), at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 16.
