Prince William

The Job Fair will feature over 30 businesses, organizations, and government agencies for Prince William area residents seeking new career opportunities. The job fair will allow the public to learn more about jobs in and around Prince William County.

Businesses in attendance will include Koons Automotive, Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, Walmart, and Wegmans. Multiple Prince William County government departments will be recruiting at the Job Fair. Prince William County Public Schools, City of Manassas Parks, Culture & Recreation, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Coast Guard will also be on-site to discuss career opportunities.

Prince William County Fire and Rescue System Chief Thomas Labelle came on duty Monday after a swearing-in ceremony at the McCoart Government Center.

LaBelle, who will lead the system that includes eight volunteer fire and rescue departments, will be responsible for the system’s Fire, Emergency Medical Services, and Emergency Management Services.

The body of a missing three-year-old girl was found in a body of water near her Stafford County home.

[Thursday, May 4, 2023], at approximately 4:37 p.m. deputies responded to Rappahannock Landing subdivision for the report of a missing child. A three-year-old girl could not be located by her family and was believed to have been last seen an hour before the call.

In January, we reported on Virginia’s new population estimates, which showed that Northern Virginia and Hampton Roads — but especially Northern Virginia — are now losing population while some parts of rural Virginia are now gaining.
