WUSA-TV: “A woman who worked as a firefighter in Virginia has died from injuries she suffered in a crash in July, the Stafford Volunteer Fire Department said. Mia Ethridge, who her department called a “spitfire,” was in fire truck that crashed in July while working as a firefighter/EMT in Louisa County, Virginia for the Louisa County Department of Fire/EMS.”


Quantico

WTTG-TV: “A Marine student assigned to the Marine Corps University – aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico – was found unresponsive in his vehicle over the weekend, officials say.”

“The student was pronounced dead at the scene on Saturday, Sept. 2.”

Stafford County held a public meeting about data centers on Tuesday, August 29, 2023.

There are multiple server farm campuses slated for the county. The meeting was an opportunity for elected leaders and planning commissioners to discuss the projects and answer questions from residents.


Prince William

Prince William fire and rescue: “Last evening (Monday, September 4, 2023, 8:45 PM), units were dispatched for a house fire in the 9200 block of Rainbow Falls Drive (Bristow). Crews arrived with fire showing from the attached garage and spreading further into the home and attic. The fire was quickly brought under control. Two (2) firefighters were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Both were treated and released from a medical facility. No other injuries were reported. The home sustained significant damage and was posted unsafe to occupy, displacing two (2) adults. The Fire Marshal’s Office determined the fire originated in the garage caused by accidental electrical issues.”

Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: “On August 30th at 12:25 p.m. Lieutenant D.T. Diggs was traveling southbound on I-95 near the 141 mile-marker when he observed a black Mercedes on the shoulder behind him approaching at a high rate of speed.”

“First Sergeant W.T, Johnson was also traveling southbound on I-95 on his marked Harley Davidson just ahead of Lt. Diggs. It appeared the Mercedes driver noticed the law enforcement motorcycle and entered the flow of traffic in front of Lt. Diggs’ unmarked patrol vehicle. As the suspect pulled even with First Sgt. Johnson, both deputies activated their emergency equipment to conduct a traffic stop.”


Prince William

Prince William Police Department:Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle – On August 31 at 8:57 p.m., officers responded to the area of Panther Pride Drive and Harwood Oaks Court in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed multiple shots were fired before a vehicle was seen quickly leaving the area. While investigating the incident, officers were notified a separate occupied vehicle was struck by the gunfire while driving in the above area and fled prior to contacting the police. While checking the area, officers located shell casings in a parking lot on Harwood Oaks Court. No injuries or additional property damage were reported.”

Carjacking – On August 31 at 10:27 p.m., officers responded to the area of Lightner Road and James Madison Highway in Haymarket (20169) to investigate a carjacking. The investigation revealed the victim, an 18-year-old man, arranged an exchange of vehicles with an unknown man via a social media app. While in the parking lot of the above area, the suspected buyer, and another unknown man, arrived in a vehicle.
