“Deputy S.C. Jett responded to the crash as other deputies searched the area. It was determined the vehicle was traveling Northbound on Truslow Road when it crossed the double yellow line, and exited the roadway. The vehicle drove through a residential fence, before ending its journey when it struck a power pole.”

“The male driver was charged with driving under the influence, two counts of obstruction of justice, hit and run, refusal, failure to maintain control of a vehicle, as well as, driving without insurance. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $4,000 secured bond. The female passenger was charged with failure to report an accident with unattended property damage by a passenger, obstruction of justice, as well as, public intoxication. She was held on a $2,000 secured bond.”

Fredericksburg Nationals: “Major League Baseball (MLB) today announced plans to host MLB Home Run Derby X events in two Minor League Baseball stadiums in August, marking the first two activations to take place in the United States since MLB introduced Home Run Derby X last year in London, Mexico City and Seoul.”

“2009 American League All-Star and 2010 World Series Champion Nick Swisher and 2013 World Series Champion and 13-year MLB veteran Jonny Gomes will participate in the Hartford event. Gomes will be joined by a yet-to-be-named MLB legend for the event in Fredericksburg.”

Heather Mitchell is seeking the GOP nomination for Stafford County Treasurer.

Mitchell already works in the treasurer’s office as a chief deputy to outgoing treasurer Laura Rudy, who chose not to run for re-election after serving since 2008. Rudy endorsed Mitchell when she announced her retirement in December 2022.

Prince William police: “Brandishing a Firearm | Road Rage Related – On June 9 at 6:56PM, officers responded to the area of Potomac Club Pkwy and Richmond Hwy. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a brandishing. The investigation revealed the victim, a 21-year-old woman, was driving in the above area when she was involved in a road rage incident with the driver of a dark-colored Hyundai Sonata. During the incident, the driver brandished a firearm towards the victim before driving away. At no point during the encounter were shots fired. The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 40 years old with brown hair.”
