Prince William police: “Fatal Crash Investigation *DRIVER CHARGED – On September 7, crash investigators obtained charges for one of the drivers involved in the fatal crash that occurred in the area of Minnieville Rd. and Hedgewood Dr. in Woodbridge (22193) on August 30. The drivers of both vehicles involved in the collision were found to have been traveling at a high rate of speed leading up to the collision. The driver charged was operating a vehicle and lost control, striking the other vehicle which then left the roadway and hit a tree. The collision killed the 23-year-old driver of the vehicle, a 2011 BMW 535. The deceased was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Following the investigation, crash investigators charged the driver of the 2014 Nissan 370 Z, identified as Bilecer Turcios HERNANDEZ, who was also determined to have been driving the vehicle without a license.”

Prince William County Commonwealth’s Attorney Amy Ashworth: “Prince William County Commonwealth’s Attorney Amy Ashworth announces the sentencing of Adrian Kendall Bryant on the first-degree murder conviction arising from the July 12, 2021, murder of a 17-year-old juvenile in Woodbridge, Virginia and the successful prosecution of Paul England for the February 2023 stabbing that occurred in Woodbridge, Virginia.”

“On July 12, 2021, at approximately 11 am, Adrian Kendall Bryant met with the juvenile victim, along with two other individuals at a location on Still Place in Prince William County. Several homeowners’ cameras captured the brief interaction between the juvenile and Mr. Bryant, who produced a handgun and fired three shots at the juvenile victim, hitting him twice.”

Stafford County Government: “Stafford County is asking for residents to volunteer to assist as poll workers for the fall elections. Stafford and the rest of the country are facing a critical shortage of poll workers. In 2022, the average poll worker was 61 and older, and 16.7 percent were first-time workers. Stafford is asking citizens to consider being trained as poll workers to ensure our elections are safe, secure and accessible.”

Prince William Police Department:Attempted Rape | Domestic Related *ARREST – On September 6, the suspect sought in connection to the domestic dispute that was reported to have occurred at the Springwoods at Lakeridge Apartments located in the 12300 block of Midsummer Lane in Woodbridge (22192) earlier that morning, was arrested. The accused, identified as Miguel Angel IBARRA CHEVEZ, was located in the Woodbridge area, and taken into custody without incident. Arrested on September 6: Miguel Angel IBARRA CHEVEZ, 27, of the 3600 block of Elm Farm Road in Woodbridge. Charged with attempted rape, preventing the summoning of law enforcement, and domestic assault & battery. Court Date: Pending | Bond: Unavailable.”

Attempted Rape | Domestic Related [Previously Released] – On September 6 at 1:20 a.m., officers responded to the Springwoods at Lakeridge Apartments located in the 12300 block of Midsummer Lane in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a domestic dispute. The investigation revealed the victim, a 22-year-old woman, and a family member, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused held the victim down and attempted to sexually assault her. The victim was eventually able to separate from the accused before she retrieved her phone and began to contact the police. Before the victim could complete the call, the accused took the victim’s phone. A brief struggle over the phone ensued, and the victim was scratched by the accused. The victim regained the phone and contacted the police. The accused fled prior to police arriving at the apartment. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Miguel Angel IBARRA CHEVEZ. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.”

I-95 Northbound: Exit 118 (Thornburg) to Exit 126 (Spotsylvania) Starting Monday, Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. Single northbound lane closure at mile marker 119, near the Po River bridge, for erosion repair. This lane will be closed 24 hrs. a day for up to an estimated 4 weeks.

Stafford County: Route 17 Northbound and Southbound Sunday – Friday, 8 p.m. – 7 a.m. Single lane closures near the I-95 interchange for work on overhead sign foundations. Single lane closures northbound between 7 p.m. – 6 a.m. and southbound between 8 p.m. – 7 a.m.

Young Marines: “The Young Marines, a national youth organization, is looking for leadership for a unit in Manassas. The Young Marines, meet at the American Legion Robert V. McMaugh Memorial Post 10 located at 9950 Cockrell Road. The unit has been active since 2002.”

“The Young Marines is a youth education and service program for boys and girls, age eight through high school graduation. The program focuses on character building, leadership, self-discipline, and promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.”
