Prince William police: “Abduction | Attempted Sexual Assault *UPDATE – The Prince William County Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance with identifying the man sought in connection to an abduction that was reported to have occurred in the area of Forestdale Ave. and Fullerton Rd. in Woodbridge (22193) on December 3 at around 1:30AM.”

“The victim voluntarily got into the suspect’s vehicle where he then refused to let her leave despite the victim’s numerous attempts. While traveling in the above area, the suspect exposed himself and made inappropriate gestures before grabbing the victim. Later that morning, the suspect drove the victim to her residence where she encountered police. Attached is a composite sketch of the suspect and photos of the suspect’s white sedan. The investigation continues. WAVY-TV: “The College of William & Mary announced it’s expanding enrollment to support first-generation and limited-income college students.School administrators said a new initiative called the Commonwealth Impact Partnership Program, launched this semester.”

“According to a press release, the program is aimed at high schools identified by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) to participate in the Virginia College Application Week initiative each fall.’

Virginia Mercury: “Virginia’s State Water Control Board amended regulations last week that will require local governments in the same river basin to work together in crafting plans for water supply and use.”

“Previously, the state allowed local governments to choose whether they wanted to submit such plans independently or work with other localities in a regional approach. Plans must include existing water sources, water use and environmental conditions, any actions being taken to manage water supply and drought response plans, among other information.”

Prince William

Prince William County fire and rescue: “[At 1:44 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023], units were dispatched to the 8400 block of Impala Drive [near Manassas] for a reported [House Fire]. Crews arrived with fire showing from a single-family home. The fire was quickly brought under control. The occupant reported being in the home’s basement earlier when she was alerted by a smoke detector.”

“Upon investigation, a fire was discovered in the basement. The occupant was able to safely evacuate and report the fire by calling 9-1-1. No injuries were reported. The home sustained moderate damage and was determined unsafe to occupy by the Building Official. The home’s only resident was displaced. The Fire Marshal’s Office confirmed the fire started in the basement and was caused by accidental use of a burning material.”

Manassas City Councilwoman Theresa Coates Ellis: “After the new Dean School construction plan was presented by the Manassas City School Board to the Manassas City Council last Thursday, I planned a Year End Wrap-Up for this upcoming [Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, 5:30 p.m., City Tavern, 9550 Center Street, Manassas], and have invited the public to hear more details and welcome questions.”

“The original plan “A” would be to build the new Dean behind the existing Dean and leave all athletic fields and track in place and available for the Dean Sports Complex. Plan “E” was recommended by the School Board. This plan would eliminate the track, a rectangle field, and a diamond and possibly a second diamond.”

Stafford Sheriff’s office: “Whether perhaps his shoes were too tight, or his heart was two sizes too small, a wanted Maryland man’s wonderful, awful idea to steal Christmas was foiled by Stafford deputies.”

“On December 4th at approximately 12:10 p.m. Deputy M.A. Pearce of the Special Problems Unit responded to Lowe’s, located at 1330 Stafford Market Place, for a report of a trespassing foe. Staff advised this suspect was squandering off with loads of goods yet to be sold.”
