“Then it was time to move into the interior. The biggest project would be to blow insulation into the attic, but our volunteers handled this task with the greatest of ease. Dave Williams threw on his suit and got to work in the attic, while Bob Swenson kept the insulation machine fed. These two bring a whole new meaning to teamwork and showing what it takes to get the job done.”

Virignia State Police: “Virginia State Police is investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash in Stafford County. The crash occurred Thursday (Dec. 28), at 2:20 a.m., on the 500 block of Route 3 (Kings Highway).”

“A 2016 Dodge Journey was traveling east on Route 3 when it ran off the left side of the roadway, overcorrected, ran off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment before it overturned and collided with several trees.”

Manassas Economic Development Department: “Kicking off the new year full of exciting events, festivals, and family-friendly activities – and starting with February’s First Friday in Historic Downtown Manassas.”

“The First Friday in 2024 will be Feb. 2, 6-9 p.m. This is the City’s 10th annual soup contest where competitors enter their tastiest soup for a chance to win cash prizes.”

When they put the motion for a city skatepark in front of the city council, there was a little progress with officials pointing at skating facilities in Brooks Park and then Curtis Park in Stafford County where the skateboarders were allowed to modify a section to skate in, but it still isn’t a real skate park.

“Whatever the rest of the world is doing, we’re doing the opposite,” said Mark Eyestone, owner of Magic Bullet Skateboards in Downtown Fredericksburg. He’s had a skate shop in Fredericksburg since 2002, and the discussion of a skatepark within the city has come up but went nowhere.
