“It was such a overwhelming feeling to be blessed so much financially,” Steven said of the experience. “It was … one of these once-in-a-lifetime experiences, that you’re on a roller coaster going up and down, but even the even the downs are fun and exciting.”

The pair appeared on the season 6 premiere episode and are one of the teams who’ve cashed out the most money. Two teams in the third season of the show won $1.67 and 1.75 million, respectively.

Fredericksburg

Rollins Kay will continue representing Ward 4 on the Fredericksburg City School Board following her re-election and swearing-in ceremony held Jan. 8.

Kay has served on the Fredericksburg City School Board for more than three decades and has been repeatedly re-elected to the nonpartisan position, often without opposition. Her new term continues her long-standing role in overseeing city public schools, including participation in budget and policy decisions.

Stafford

“Crews worked quickly to extinguish the fire, as well as search the structure,” the department stated. “The fire was marked under control in approximately 10 minutes.”

Fire officials said the two occupants evacuated before crews arrived and no injuries were reported. Additional units were used to shuttle water due to a lack of hydrants in the area. The Stafford County Fire Marshal’s Office is conducting a routine investigation. Fredericksburg Fire Department assisted on scene, while Quantico Fire & Emergency Services and Fauquier County Fire Rescue provided station coverage elsewhere in the county.

One of my favorite things to do at Potomac Local News is tell stories about what’s popping up around the corner — new restaurants, new shops, “coming soon” signs, and even businesses quietly closing their doors.

Those stories consistently do well, and there’s a simple reason why: people love knowing what’s changing in their community.

Politics

Voters in parts of Prince William and Stafford counties will head to the polls Tuesday, January 13, to decide who will represent them in the Virginia House of Delegates’ 23rd District in a special election.

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. in both counties. Voters who are in line by 7 p.m. will be allowed to cast a ballot.
