The Fredericksburg Nationals are here to stay — but under new ownership.
Diamond Baseball Holdings (DBH), which owns more than 30 Minor League Baseball teams across the country, has purchased the FredNats from the Silber family. The move marks a new chapter for the team, which brought Minor League Baseball back to the Fredericksburg region in 2020.
Lewis, since the beginning of 2024, has faced medical struggles associated with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, FND is a condition that is caused by changes in how brain networks work rather than changes in the brain’s physical structure.
Symptoms vary across the individuals who are diagnosed with FND each year, including seizure-like episodes, dizziness, speech difficulties, pain, numbness and movement problems.
Local residents and longtime conservation advocates K.P. and Myra Lau, co-founders of the Belmont Bay Paddlers (BBP), a kayak club that has been organizing river cleanups since 2015, made the discovery.
The Rappahannock Regional Criminal Justice Academy (RRCJA) will soon open a new indoor firearms training facility on Lee Hill Drive, a significant addition to its training capabilities. The 9,000-square-foot space in a renovated warehouse next door to the academy includes 14 shooting lanes, a classroom, a cleaning and storage area, and full indoor pistol training capabilities.
“It’ll give us the ability to send all recruits for firearms training more than just one week,” said Academy Director Michael Harvey. “Refreshers and support training will be easier to arrange.”

On Saturday, over 200 people stood in line to check out a new habit: Habit Burger launched its first of three soft openings before opening the new Chancellor’s Crossing store on Wednesday.
The California-based company’s char-grilled burgers are the star of a menu that also features chicken, sandwiches, and unusual side dishes. The new Spotsylvania location is the company’s fifth in Virginia, joining Richmond, Chantilly, Virginia Beach, and Ashburn.
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Local hard rock band Whiskey Tango-6 brought music and heart to a special cause this weekend.
The band performed at the third annual “Burn Rubber to Help Another” fundraiser on June 14 at Dominion Raceway and Entertainment. The event, organized by teen race car driver Mini Tyrrell through his nonprofit Mini’s Mission, hosted 30 families with children battling cancer from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and Children’s National Hospital. Funds raised go toward research, awareness, and support for families navigating childhood cancer.
