Leadership Prince William is accepting new applications for students for its 2023 signature program.
The program attracts professionals from private businesses and governments who want to learn more about the inner workings of the region. This year’s class will have more than 30 students for the first time since 2020 when classes were downsized due to the coronavirus.
Gov. Glen Youngkin’s mask choice executive order took effect Monday, January 24, giving parents the option to send their children to school without a facemask. Afterward, many parents who sent their child to school without a mask said their children were segregated from their classmates, sat along in the backs of classrooms, or removed from classrooms altogether, forced to spend the day in administrative offices, and denied a proper education.
The Prince William County School Board voted unanimously to sue Youngkin, joining multiple Northern Virginia school divisions who chose to ignore the executive order from the newly-inaugurated Republican governor.
I-66 East and West near Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) in Manassas will be reduced to a single lane in each direction for about one mile during the overnight hours Monday, March 21, through Friday, March 25, for continued bridge beam installation for a new access ramp to the future I-66 Express Lanes.
I-66 East will be closed with two-way traffic running on I-66 West so that crews can safely install bridge beams over the eastbound lanes.This work is part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Stunt pilots won’t be coming back to Manassas this year.
Manassas Regional Airport Senior Operations Manager Jolene Berry said the annual air show is canceled again this year due to coronavirus concerns. The show, which brought tens of thousands of spectators to the airport, was last held in 2019.

The 11th District no longer includes Prince William County following the Virginia Supreme Court’s decision to draw new political maps for federal and state offices. The newly-drawn 11th District lies within the boundaries of Fairfax County, where Connolly served as Board of County Supervisors Chairman and includes Tysons, Fairfax City, Chantilly, and Reston.Â
FEMA is proposing updates to the Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) for specific areas in Stafford County.
These updates are based on feedback provided by the community during the first appeal period in September 2020 for Stafford County’s flood maps.
