Beverly Hess, who served as the executive director for six years of the ARTfactory, has resigned.
Hess began as executive director in August 2015, when it was still known as the Center for the Arts of Greater Manassas at the Candy Factory.
A Stafford County High School student drove his car too dangerously, too close to school buses, authorities said.

Two feuding neighbors are in jail after several shots were fired at a home in Woodbridge.
On Tuesday, March 29, at 8:19 a.m., officers went to the 2800 block of Chablis Circle in Lake Ridge to investigate shots being fired. Officers learned a man walked over to the home of his neighbor, a 33-year-old woman, and got into an argument with her while standing in front of their homes.

A Stafford County student was honored as one of three winners of the fifth annual Virginia Lottery Thank a Teacher Art Contest. Jocelyn Turman, a seventh-grader at Edward Drew Middle School, won in the contest’s middle school category.
Three winners (one each from the elementary, middle, and high school levels) were selected from nearly 300 entries to have their artwork featured on thank-you notes distributed to thousands of teachers across the state during National Teacher Appreciation Week, May 2 through 6, 2022.
