Stafford County Public Schools says it didn’t send that text message.

According to the school division, parents reported receiving a message today about schools being dismissed early due to law enforcement activity. That’s not the case, the school system assured the public.

On April 20 at 2 a.m., officers went to the Sutton Apartments located in the 2300 block of Vantage Drive in Woodbridge to investigate an indecent exposure.

A 26-year-old woman told police that she heard a knock at her door and upon opening the door, she saw a black man without clothes exposing himself, and making inappropriate gestures.

In March of 2020 the stock market plummeted nearly 8,000 points and by April unemployment hit 15%. That same month, the Prince William Board of County Supervisors responded by increasing the average residential tax bill by almost $200 per family.

In April of 2021, with the economy still on its back and inflation creeping in, Prince William County residents got socked by their elected body with another hit to their wallet of over $300 on average.

The newly opened Prince William County Child Advocacy Center, or CAC, will bring professionals involved in all aspects of child abuse cases together for a timely, coordinated response to provide child abuse victims with a safe, welcoming place where they can tell their stories.

Collaboration among Child Protective Services, Community Services, law enforcement, the County Attorney’s Office, and the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, for an encompassing approach to child abuse cases, will decrease the number of times children will need to be interviewed.
