Manhunt Continues in White Oak for Suspect Who Fled Traffic Stop

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. – Deputies are continuing to search for a man who fled a traffic stop and crashed near the Giant grocery store on Town and Country Drive Thursday afternoon.

The suspect, identified as Andre Bennett Jr., 44, of King George, remains at large as of 8 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2025. Deputies believe he evaded capture overnight by hiding in a wooded area near Baron Park Road. A law enforcement presence remains in the White Oak Road area, and residents may continue to see increased activity.

Updated: One Dead in Dale City Double Shooting

Updated 10:40 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2025 – A man is in custody after allegedly shooting two family members—killing one and critically injuring the other—during an argument inside a Woodbridge home Wednesday evening.

Prince William police say 56-year-old Khampheng Toune Quanlangsy shot a 42-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman in the upper body following a verbal altercation. Officers responded around 5:42 p.m. to the 12900 block of Kenmar Drive, where they found Quanlangsy outside the home and took him into custody without incident.

Man Assaulted While Shaving, Sexual Battery, Threats, and Arrests

A man shaving in his vehicle on Town Square Circle was assaulted without warning Wednesday morning, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. A known suspect reportedly attacked the man unprovoked. A warrant for assault and battery has been obtained but not yet served.

Later that day, a woman reported a disturbing incident at Discount Tobacco and Vape on Deacon Road. She told deputies that an employee touched and kissed her without consent. The suspect was arrested and charged with assault and battery and sexual battery, and is being held without bond.

Flash Flooding Possible Thursday Afternoon as Heat and Humidity Persist

Hot, muggy weather continues Thursday, with another round of dangerous heat and the potential for flash flooding. Temperatures will reach the upper 80s to low 90s, but high humidity will make it feel more like 95–105 degrees. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop by early afternoon, producing torrential downpours that could lead to significant flooding—especially in and around the I-66/US-50 corridor.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch from Thursday afternoon through late Thursday night for a wide area including the District of Columbia, most of central and southern Maryland, and northern Virginia. Some areas could see multiple rounds of storms with rainfall totals between 4 to 6 inches, causing extensive street flooding and flash flooding in poor drainage areas. Residents are urged to avoid travel during the evening commute and never drive through flooded roads.

Two Armed Robberies near Manassas, Plus Arrest in Officer Struggle at Hospital

A second teenage suspect has been arrested in connection to a violent Armed Robbery that took place in the early morning hours of June 14 on Sudley Road near Manassas. A 15-year-old boy from Manassas was taken into custody on July 28 and charged with robbery, grand larceny, assault, and petit larceny. Police say the incident involved three suspects, one of whom brandished a firearm and discharged it during a struggle with the victim. No life-threatening injuries were reported. One adult was previously arrested, and a third suspect remains unidentified.

On July 29, police responded to another Armed Robbery in the area of Gardenia Lane and Shallow Creek Loop, also near Manassas. Multiple individuals assaulted a 16-year-old boy who was meeting someone to sell shoes, one of whom implied he was armed. The suspects took the boots, but the victim and a parent later recovered the items before notifying police. No injuries were reported, and the victim has declined to pursue charges.
