Officers stopped the suspect area of Belleplain Court and Allen Dent Road near Dumfries before 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2022. Police officers, a police K9, and a helicopter from Fairfax County police all searched the area for the suspect but didn’t find him.

On Tuesday, October 4, at 8:02 p.m., officers were called to the Bayvue Apartments located in the 1400 block of Bayside Avenue in Woodbridge to investigate suspected illegal drug use. A man detained by apartment security personnel for suspected illegal drug use turned out to be the suspect, police said.
The department lost its dog, Ruby, at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday, October 4. Ruby came in contact with an electric fence in the area of Mountain View Road and Guy Lane, said Department spokesman Ryan Wilbur, and was later found lying on the porch of a nearby house.
The department had not said if Ruby was involved in a search for a suspect or if she was conducting training when she touched the fence.

(THE CENTER SQUARE) – Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin developed a new energy plan, which he says would diversify the energy sector by tapping into nuclear energy, natural gas, renewables and other energy sources.
The OmniRide Commissioners will be asked to approve a series of sweeping service changes to commuter and local bus routes beginning in December. The changes include a bus to Reston, a first for OmniRide.
The proposed changes come as the Interstate 66 E-ZPass Express Lanes open to traffic. In addition, changes are also being proposed to restructure some eastern commuter routes to operate into Woodbridge and Dale City areas that currently do not have direct transit service or to streamline operations for more efficient commuter service.
