Tomorrow is Election Day across Virginia. Polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
This year’s big races in our area are congressional seats in Virginia’s 7th District (Abigail Spanberger (D) / Yesli Vega (R) and in Virginia’s 10th District (Jennifer Wexton (D) / Hung Cao (R).
A total of 284,636 tickets bought in Virginia won prizes ranging from $4 to $150,000 in Saturday’s drawing. Three Virginia tickets each won $150,000 in Saturday’s drawing.
According to the Virginia Lottery, prize-winning tickets greater than $600 can be redeemed at any of the eight Virginia Lottery customer service centers or can be mailed to the Virginia Lottery. Click here for details and locations.
Republican Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming publicly endorsed Democratic Rep. Abigail Spanberger of Virginia on Saturday, saying the former CIA officer is “dedicated to serving this country and her constituents and defending our Constitution.”
The cross-party endorsement, first reported by the Washington Post, came as Spanberger made her closing pitch on the final day of early voting in the swing district before the midterm elections on Tuesday.

Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Manassas-area 7-Eleven store.
On Friday, November 4, at 2:48 a.m., officers were called to a 7-Eleven at 10460 Sudley Manor Drive near Manassas. A man entered the store and walked to the service counter, demanding money from an employee.
Attendees learned about alternative fuel vehicle (AFV) technology from the Virginia Clean Cities (VCC) project team and from AFV industry experts ABM, Sonny Merryman Inc., Roush CleanTech, and Blue Bird.
The Drive Clean Rural USA project is a step for the city as it diligently works to achieve the City Council’s goal of powering municipal operations with 100% renewable energy by 2035. As a part of this project and workshop, all three entities undergo a fleet assessment to establish a baseline for fleet operations. By participating in this effort, the city aims to plan and identify opportunities to transition to a clean fuel-powered fleet city-wide.

Continued reconstruction and paving of the permanent ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 South will require closure of the ramp during daytime hours today, Saturday, November 5; Wednesday, November 9; and Thursday, November 10.
The ramp will also be closed for an extended overnight period on Sunday, November 6, beginning at 8 p.m. until noon the following day. This work is part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
