On January 30 at 7:36 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 9300 block of Victoria Street near Manassas to investigate a domestic dispute.

When officers arrived at the residence, they encountered a man, later identified as the accused, at the doorway of the home who attempted to prevent officers from speaking with the other occupants at the residence. At one point, the accused spat on the officer.

The Manassas City Council will hold its annual retreat in Haymarket, keeping it local this year after holding last year’s event in Harrisonburg.

The council is expected to cover several pressing issues during the two-day meeting, including the city budget, transportation planning, economic development, updates on developing city parks, and affordable housing.

The Devlin Road Technology Park — over 4 million square feet of planned data center space — is back on the Prince William Board of County Supervisors’ agenda for Tuesday, February 7, 2023.

Supervisors are being asked to amend the county’s long-range comprehensive land-use plan, moving more than 270 acres from planned mixed residential to M-2, Light Industrial, to allow for the development of up to 4.25 million square feet of data center space.

Updated 5:45 p.m. — Manassas police said city officials did a good job communicating with the public during a lockdown at several schools last week.

Just before 1 p.m. On Thursday, January 26, 2022, administrators placed Osbourn High School and two other schools, Baldwin Intermediate and Elementary schools and Metz Middle School, into “secure the building” mode, where no one could enter or exit the building while instructors continued teaching.

The investigation revealed the driver of a 2015 Jeep Wrangler was traveling north on Richmond Highway when the driver slowed to make a right turn onto Williamstown Drive.

As the vehicle slowed, the passenger opened their door and got out of the Jeep was still in motion.

On Friday, January 27, 2023, Prince William County fire and rescue units were dispatched to the 3000 block of Sunny Brook Court in Lake Ridge for a reported kitchen fire in a townhouse.

Crews arrived with the home evacuated and smoke showing. The kitchen fire was quickly confirmed and extinguished. The fire caused moderate damage. One man inside the home sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local medical facility.
