A 27-year-old Maryland man apparently thought it was a good idea to smash his car into a police SUV that had been chasing him.
At approximately 10:49 a.m. Wednesday (May 17), Virginia State Police located a GMC Yukon that Prince William County Police was looking for in connection with an ongoing investigation. The GMC was on Route 1 in Prince William County heading north towards the Fairfax County line.
Man who used a hammer to attack Manassas-area retail store arrested in Richmond
Armed Robbery *ARREST – On May 15, 2023, the suspect sought in connection to the robbery that was reported to have occurred at the Dollar and Gift store located at 7630 Streamwalk Lane in Manassas (20109) on January 13, 2022, was arrested. The accused, identified as Esteban Jesus DURAN, was located and taken into custody by the Richmond Police Department where he will remain until transported to Prince William County.
Authorities charged a student after marijuana was found at North Stafford High School.

Sarah Ellen Smith, age 85, passed away in Stafford, Virginia, on Sunday, May 14, 2023.

Manassas police said he used stolen credit cards to purchase items from shops in the city. Meanwhile, a search for a second suspect continues.
On May 14, 2023 Manassas City Police responded to the 9500 block of Liberia Ave. (Fresh World), in the City of Manassas, for a report of two male subjects trying to purchase items with stolen credit cards. Upon police arrival an officer was assaulted (no injuries) by one of the suspects while trying to detain them.

The Prince William County Solid Waste Division will hold a free document shred event for Prince William area residents on Saturday, May 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (or until trucks reach capacity).
The shred event will be held at Pfitzner Stadium, 7 County Complex Court, Woodbridge, the former home of the Potomac Nationals baseball team.
