Volunteer Prince William received a $50,000 grant from Potomac Health Foundation, which will provide transportation for veterans, spouses, widows, and widowers for one year beginning July 1, 2022. Recipients will receive rides to medical appointments, supermarkets, shops, and churches.
“We are excited about the opportunity that Potomac Health Foundation has provided for us to continue our work to provide transportation for the health needs of our Veterans and families,” says Bridget Mullins, Executive Director at Volunteer Prince William.”This will be a wonderful chance to expand our services to support this population which has given so much to our country.”

Four people were taken to a hospital after a crash involving an OmniRide Local Bus.
Two passengers, the bus driver and the driver of the car, were injured at about 12:30 p.m. today on Potomac Mills Road near Gideon Drive in Woodbridge.
VDOT tells us it has wrapped up its overnight work on Interstate 95 early and won’t need to cause additional delays.
Late last week, VDOT) warned I-95 travelers to expect overnight delays starting Sunday, July 10, through early Friday, July 15.

The Virginia Passenger Rail Authority (VPRA) and Amtrak today celebrated the start of a new daily roundtrip between Washington, D.C., and Roanoke.
There are now two round-trip trains traveling between the two cities. The new roundtrip departs Washington at 8:05 a.m., arriving in Roanoke at 1 p.m. The return trip departs Roanoke at 4:30 p.m. and arrives in Washington at 9:28 p.m.
