Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: “On [Wednesday] November 8th at approximately 9:25 a.m. Deputy M.A. Floirendo was conducting her SRO duties at Stafford High School, located at 63 Stafford Indians Lane, when she was informed of a fight in the gym.”

“It was discovered a verbal argument between two juvenile students ensued over a previous incident. The incident escalated when one student assaulted the other.”

Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: “Government Island, 191 Coal Landing Road, 10/19, 1:38 p.m. Resident reported credit cards were stolen from her vehicle while she hiked the trail on Government Island. The thief was a voracious shopper as they racked up $4,557 in charges at Walmart within an hour.”

Government Island, a historic 18th and 19th-century quarry site provided Aquia sandstone for the construction of the U.S. Capitol and the White House and other historic buildings in Washington, D.C.

Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: “35,000 fentanyl pills were taken off the streets of Stafford due to the hard work of our Special Investigations Unit.”

“On October 2nd at approximately 5:24 p.m. deputies responded to a residence in Stafford for drug activity. The victim advised they received a package in the mail that was sent to the wrong address. Within the package was a plethora of fentanyl pills. Approximately 15,000 pills were seized. Due to the nature of the incident, our Special Investigations Unit was notified and took over the investigation.”

Stafford Sheriff’s office: “The suspect from the Rappahannock Landing subdivision shooting is currently in the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office’s custody.”

“On October 11th, at approximately 2:45 p.m. deputies responded to the 200 block of Streamview Drive in the Rappahannock Landing subdivision for multiple calls of shots fired. When deputies arrived, they located a 42-year-old Stafford man Derrick Campbell with multiple gunshot wounds. He unfortunately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

Stafford County Sheriff: “A wanted Stafford man attempted to run and hide, but discovered both would not help him escape from deputies.”

“On September 24th at approximately 4:10 p.m. Sergeant B.U. Demirci and Deputy B.W. Gildea were at the Latin Market, located at 367 Warrenton Road, when they observed someone they knew to be wanted. The 21-year-old suspect was wanted for two outstanding capias charges. When the two deputies attempted to converse with the suspect, he quickly began fleeing, resulting in a foot pursuit.”

Stafford County’s Sheriff Department: “A wanted Stafford man was arrested after a foot pursuit along Garrisonville Road yesterday afternoon. On September 21st at 4:09 p.m. deputies responded to the Red Roof Inn at 153 Garrisonville Road for a suspicious person call.”

“Based on the face tattoos, deputies believed the suspicious person could be Dorian Murphy, 25, who was wanted in both Stafford and Alexandria. Sergeant R.K. Pinkard pulled into the motel parking lot and saw Murphy dart into the wood line. A perimeter was quickly established and K-9 began a track. Deputy S.C. Martin, fresh off his apprehension of a fleeing suspect at the Courthouse, witnessed Murphy running in the area of the Aldi and the net began to close in.”

Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: “A juvenile student has been charged after a threat of violence to a Stafford County school.”

“On August 28 deputies learned of a threatening message left on the voicemail at Anthony Burns Elementary School this weekend. Sergeant J.T. Harrod III immediately began the investigation and coordinated with school staff to identify the caller. With the expert assistance of a network engineer for the schools, Sergeant Harrod quickly learned the phone number of the suspect.”

Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: “On August 28th at 9:32 p.m. Deputy S.T. Myers and his K-9 partner Gunner observed a stolen Ford F-150 at the Wawa on South Gateway Drive.”

“The driver of the stolen vehicle was reported to be Wayne Motley, 46, of Spotsylvania, who was already wanted for felony charges. Much like the Steel Curtain defense of the 1976 Pittsburgh Steelers, Deputy D.S. Jett, Sergeant M.E. Gordon and First Sergeant D.W. Fetterolf made their way to the scene to block any escape path.”
