Police in Prince William County are searching for a bank robber.

On Friday, February 3 at 2:31 p.m., officers responded to the TD Bank located at 16714 Richmond Highway in Woodbridge to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed that an unknown man approached a teller inside the bank and held a note demanding money.

On Saturday, February 4, at 5:50 a.m., officers responded to a home located in the 16500 block of Sherwood Place in Woodbridge to investigate shots fired call.

The investigation revealed multiple gunshots that struck a house. During a canvass of the neighborhood, two additional homes and three unoccupied vehicles were found to have been struck by the gunfire. Officers made contact at the homes and located the vehicle owners, and no injuries were reported.

What started as Wasters End neighborhood brewery in Lake Ridge has quickly expanded to other areas of the region, like Fredericksburg and now Leesburg.

A new business is brewing in the Village at Leesburg. Chefscape, a food hall and bar featuring a variety of local chefs, will soon become “The Dell: Food & Brew Hall.” Water’s End Brewery, which has two locations in Prince William County and another in Downtown Fredericksburg, will operate the brewery currently being constructed inside the front door, adjacent to the customer seating area.

T. Benton Gayle Middle School in Stafford County qualified for the 2023 National Convention in all areas at the Virginia Regional Leadership Summit.

Twenty-three of GMS’s Junior Beta Club members attended the leadership summit, the first in which the school has participated. The school also received an Outstanding Leadership School award.

The Woodbridge Magisterial District has a Republican seeking the seat on the Prince William Board of County Supervisors for the first time in eight years.

Republican Jeannie LaCroix announced today that she is running in the 2023 general election for the Prince William County (PWC) Board of Supervisors for the Woodbridge District.

The cat was under confinement with Stafford Animal Control when it became aggressive.  There were confirmed human exposures through bites or scratches from the cat.  These individuals were advised to obtain rabies post-exposure preventive treatment from the local hospital Emergency Department to prevent the development of human rabies.

The Health Department is notifying the public in case any people or pets may have had contact with this cat. Any individuals exposed/potentially exposed to this cat should seek medical advice promptly from their healthcare provider to evaluate whether rabies prevention medication is needed.  Individuals may also contact the Stafford County Environmental Health Office at 540-288-9018.

The association’s 2023 project award in the “Environment Less than $5 Million” category was for installing a trash collection system called a bandalong in Neabsco Creek.

“This was a team effort between Parks and Public Works, and we got lucky and found a private partner in Micron Technology,” Hughes said. “Their corporate team in Manassas was looking for a watershed restoration project because Micron uses a lot of water in their microchip manufacturing process. On Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, the Commonwealth graduated its 137th generation of Virginia State Troopers. The 31 new troopers were presented their diplomas during commencement exercises at 10 a.m. at the State Police Training Academy located at 7700 Midlothian Turnpike in North Chesterfield County.
